Maybe he could help Levy with a transplant?

This idea that some managers like to spend money and some don't is silly.

Top managers are ambitious, Conte has no interest in fighting for fourth every year when he could be winning titles elsewhere. Better results requires a better squad, a better squad requires significant investment. Ipso facto, it's definitional.

Tottenham Hotspur Football Club is going nowhere without spending eye-watering sums in the transfer market going forward. That is table stakes to being a club that's even safely clear of the relegation zone in the Premier League.

Luckily, we are the 9th richest club in the world, have a stadium that is one of the best revenue generators in the sport, and showed clear intent to spend big before Covid came and shook our world up.

Covid of course remains a confounding variable for us and everyone else. But putting that to one side, Tottenham should be seen as a very well funded project. If the kind of investment we saw in Summer 2019 is the new normal, it's just a matter of putting the right personnel in place.
There is nothing wrong with spending to succeed my point is Conte will want to compete with man city, Utd, Chelsea and Liverpool in order to win the title and rightly so, I just don't think Levy will provide the necessary funding and freedom for him to buy the players he will need. This will result in tensions between the two imo. I'd love to be proved wrong but....

Repost but with a little added language. Still not sure about this Italian paper

He is a far better manager than Jose but he is still a short term 1-2 year type manager and unless we are going balls out in the transfer market (which I seriously doubt) it doesn’t fix our underlying issues.

Sad to say but we need a project type manager right now to rebuild our brittle foundations. For me someone like Rangnick would be more suitable for a long term approach.

He is SO young !

Conte is one of the best managers in the world, I just can’t see him coming here

Just won the title with Inter, will want a stab at champions league with them

His Chelsea links are also a worry although I get the feeling he hates them after his sacking

If we could pull it off it would be unbelievable news but it’s a very very difficult one
Lets be positive, its the first name that has got me interested !

He is. He gets the best out of teams, he is just a wild man though and his relationship with Levy won’t last more than 2 years.
His football is mostly shite too. He's basically a relevant Mourinho clone. But will not deny that he knows how to set a team up and get them playing results football.

The problem for me is he's another deeply dislikable cunt. Found guilty and band from the sport for match-fixing and another ex-Chav.

:avbnaa:

Conte obviously has a ton of results in his past but is such a blah choice. I would not be excited in the least to hear that he is coming and it would be a real bad sign for the club going forward.

That said there haven't been any credible links and it likely is all just posturing from his side to get more money out of Inter.

I think Levy has all his chips on Rodgers coming. He'll make him a very tempting offer, and sell the club to him. TBH we should be pulling out everything to get him, as he is the best of the rest in my opinion. The likes of Pep, Klopp, Zidane aren't coming here.. Poch wont be back yet, and the others aren't as good as Rodgers.

Personally think he'd be foolish to leave Leicester, although we are bigger and are just waiting for the right man.. He already has that platform at Leicester, and is safe in his job.
Rodgers would be a good manager, I'm sure of that, but I can't shake the feeling that he'd get top 4 maybe and that'd be that. I really think Leicester have a good structure/recruitment that may be flattering him right now.

Am I going crazy?

Both would suit Doherty and Reguilon, would they not?
:sonhmm:
Sessegnon and Aurier (should he stay) as well. And Davies can drop into the 3 at the back to make room for Sess.

We would have to sacrifice a body in midfield but it would probably work.

As I said, we would have to chose if we want to play 3-4-3, with Son operating in the Hazard role on a flank. Or 3-5-2 with Kane and Son in a duo. Either works.
