Ex-Spurs Player Harry Kane

Latest Spurs videos from Sky Sports

Yeah because he's drawn out of attack to bolster the midfield.

Give your head a Canelo.

Or because he's improved as a player and is no longer just an out and out striker like he once was. Why would he stand in the box when his all round game has so much more to offer? Name one better play-maker in the squad right now than Harry Kane? Ndombele?! Lmao.

I hate the thought of him joining another PL side and being booed when he comes to the Lane. Hopefully, if it does happen. our supporters will give him a great welcome

I would save my applause for when he's 40 odd, doing a half time chat on the inaudible stadium microphone, while kids that never watched him play are stuffing their faces with over priced hot dogs in the vomitorium.

This is what the club has come to. A section of it's supporters actually criticising Kane, one of the best players in the league and one of the best goal-scorers in Premier League history, and our best player by a distance, because he doesn't score against the very best sides sometimes, sides that are generally much better than us.

Some wankers have got the club they deserve.

Which is above all down to his destructive tendency to play through injury and be a half-fit shadow of himself by the business end of the season.

He had no business being on the field in the CL Final, to name the biggest example.
He had no business starting that European Cup final but players will always want to play, particularly if it’s probably a once in a lifetime game for a club like Spurs. That’s where a top manager earns his stripes and makes the hard call. You’re not fit to start Harry, you’ll come on after the hour mark and we’ll start the fellow that got the hat-trick in the semi final. That’s what Pochettino should have been saying there.

Ridiculous that people still trot this stupid shit out.

He 100% should have been on the field and 100% gave us a much better chance to win than Lucas dogshit Moura would have.

If we managed to win a penalty there's no player in world football I would rather have on the pitch than Kane.

Also, as anyone that watches a lot of football knows - top players can be passengers for the entire game then pop up with 1 shot, 1 goal, and decide a result.

He didn't that day, so we have hindsight to criticise Poch with.
Had he started Moura for the same outcome, the reverse would be argued.

It could have been Dele, Eriksen or Son dropped for Lucas too..

He was never a great player. Averaged 25 games per season over 14 years.
He did start in the 08 final to be fair, but he is often my 'go to' example of a bang average player that won more trophies than some of the most talented footballers in history.
Sure he 'deserved them' as a playing part of those sides, but put him in a squad with 25 players of Wes Brown ability and they wouldn't have won very much.
Good job they had the best manager in football history then, who knew that you don’t need 11 Ronaldo’s, just the one.

Regarding Kane, he isn’t, never was and never will be a Ronaldo

Yeah that’s funny because the only reason we reached the final is because Kane got injured halfway through the City first leg.

0-0 when he went off by the way, oh look another big game win without him, but yeah, he proved 100% in the final that it was the right decision despite not touching the ball for 87 minutes

Maybe, but I did argue vehemently here before the final in Madrid that it was a mistake to start Harry, that he couldn’t have been anywhere near match fitness to be facing a beast like Van Dijk. Not just the benefit of hindsight as far as I’m concerned.

Hadn’t kicked a ball for ten weeks and was on crutches a week before

Pathetic
Another cowardly decision from top to bottom. Standard THFC

Top goal scorer in the premier league

Top assists in the premier league

For a team unwilling to leave their half under Mourinho, and a midfield that rarely get any quality into him

He has bad games yes, but there isn’t one striker out there available to us that would be within a country fucking mile of Harry Kane

He should never be sold in a million years, but I would have no qualms with him deciding to leave, we’ve held him back long enough

Slightly sick of the notion Kane deserves trophies more than we do

Life will go on and there will still be a Tottenham Hotspur Football Club after Harry, whether that is at the end of this season, next season or in 5 or 6 years time if he finishes out his career here as a one club man.

There was a club here before Harry as well. We finished 5th, 6th, 4th, 5th, 4th in the five seasons 2009-10 to 2013-14, immediately preceding Harry’s breakthrough season 2014-15, we won the League Cup in 2007-08 and finished 5th in both 2005-06 and 2006-07.

He’s been a great servant and goal scorer but it’s dangerous to go down the road of cult following of one player. We’ve lost big players before - Bale, Modric, Gascoigne, Lineker and Hoddle. Life went on then.

This talk that we’d be a relegation side if Harry goes is just silly and hysterical. Bar an outlier of a season in 2016/17 when we finished 2nd with 86 points, we’ve more or less operated at the same level as we did in the decade prior to Harry’s emergence - in or around the high 60’s/low 70’s points wise and hovering around the Top 4 mark.

Yeh and what have we won during those periods of losing huge assets? Sweet FA. We won the league cop with berbatov. Sold him and haven’t won a dime since. Proving selling big players puts you back. Don’t make out Spurs have coped well when big players have left because we really haven’t. It took us years to rebuild when Bale left. Our most “successful” period in modern era is Spurs with Harry Kane. Take him out the team, you are left with mid table fodder at best. You keep and build around your best players. Hence why the Chelsea’s, City’s, Liverpool’s of this world win trophies mate. You don’t advocate selling one of our greatest strikers and pretend it will be ok. It’s not a cult mentality, it’s the truth. Harry Kane goes, we might still have Tottenham Hotspur, but it will be a Tottenham Hotspur with no direction and spiralling down into mid table mediocrity. You pretend Kane going wouldn’t be a disaster, whilst us realists know this pretty much could spell the end of our challenge with the big boys for a large number of years.

He does, has consistently scored goals for us in his prime years, tried to bring us up to his level but we haven’t made it

It’s not his fault we are a banter club in every other area

If Cristiano Ronaldo was at Spurs his whole career and won fuck all I would say the same about him, these players deserve trophies and because of how we are run we can’t give them trophies
