I'm thinking we bring Foyth back to take a look at in summer. He's been playing a lot in a team that reached the EL final. A better team than Spurs. And he is extremely versatile. Right back, central and defensive midfielder. With Potter in charge, I'm sure he will become the player we sometimes saw in him. With Conte in charge, he will not. But I think Villarreal has a buy option?

I do think that in football you have some additional considerations that the Moneyball guys didn't have to make. I'm sure a baseball team while fielding defensively needs to gel but the 'he gets on base' thinking shows how much simpler the recruitment of hitters is in MLB.

By comparison we need a team of 11 players starting who are not only talented individuals but will gel together and will fit the style of football we want to play. Decisions like Guardiola getting rid of Sane shows the balance issue.

There are a lot of players. The moneyball approach will zoom in on the players to take a closer look at. To make the scouting more of a, who of these moneyballed players is right for us.

even more reason to have a DOF and a consistent philosophy because otherwise thats a mad way to run a football club. With all the improvements and sophistications of modern football now I can't really believe any top club would randomly purchase players without thought for how they might integrate with the club staff / ethos.
 
Either all these links are bollocks or we have a new manager tied up and he is on board with them.

Good if we are teeing up deals, which is what we should be doing. But they are a complete waste of time if the new man doesn't want to sign off on them.

Yes - those turned out to be great players...

More like 3-4th choice rejects when all other top prospects are wrapped up by clubs that have an actual transfer strategy - we get sloppy seconds. Doesn't help either when your chief scout hates his job

They’ve almost all been shite. But that’s a different point. That’s not on clubs not wanting to deal with Levy.

Love the fact you went back a couple of hours to click the wee x. Ah, the old days.

I’m not sucking Levy off. As I’ve pointed out so many times, there are many many reasons to be pissed of at him. So why the need to make stuff up?

Nobody wants to deal with us in the transfer market? Just completely made up. Making stuff up does nothing but dilute any valid points you have about the lack of leadership at the club.
