They forgot to add “ "Our focus is on finishing the season as strongly as possible. That’s what everyone should be focused on, like we are . That is why we made a 29 year old novice , manager of one of the biggest clubs in world football. Oh and don’t forget the Atlanta Falcons host the New York Jets on Sunday, October 10, with Jacksonville Jaguars at home the following week when they take on the Miami Dolphins. Go Gridiron!

Something's up. I don't know whether good or bad, or whether Spurs specific or broader than that, but there's something in this picture we're not seeing.

This is absolutely true, but the other truth is that Kane is an unquestioned god-tier legend at Spurs no matter what happens from here. He can have his cake and eat it too.

So long as he doesn't go to Chelsea of course.
I disagree.

Him leaving drops him down in status at Spurs. He would be god-tier if he stays. When he leaves then he proves he's no more Spurs than the average player to me.

I can totally understand him going to City and so that'll give him some grace. Anywhere else in the Prem and he tarnishes his legacy even more. No transfer other than to City guarantees him trophies so he needs to play his hand carefully if he has any interest in how he's remembered here.

Leicester have proven it's possible to sell your best players and still compete. But only if you can keep unearthing gems in the transfer market. Our 'transfer committee' isn't smart like that.
Even if they were Levy would only offer £47.69 for them and throw in a family pack curly wurly at a push he’d open the pack and keep two :sandro:

Kane is gone because Jose is gone. Simple as that no need to sugarcoat it. The club messed up. Your best player believed in the coach and could see he was changing the mentality of the club but y’all fell for the media narrative cuz they wanted Kane gone from you long ago but with the arrival of Mou they had to make you believe he’s finished so you sack him and Kane give up on the club, which is exactly what’s happening now.

You needed patience now I wonder if you’d ever fight for top 4 or regulations but sad days ahead of Spurs.

major disappointment.

Harry Kane has let it be known to Tottenham Hotspur that he wants to leave the club in the summer. The striker expressed his frustration at the end of last month at a continued inability to achieve his ambition of winning major trophies at Spurs in comments that felt like the first step of an exit strategy.

The England captain has now activated step two, with sources close to him saying that he has told the club he wants a move. The news, which will be noted with great interest at Manchester City, Manchester United and Chelsea, represents a nightmare for the Spurs chairman, Daniel Levy, who is currently seeking a permanent managerial replacement for José Mourinho.
Kane is the symbol of Spurs, having risen through the youth ranks to achieve international acclaim and, in terms of optics, the notion that “Mr Tottenham” no longer believes in the club is hugely damaging.
It is a narrative that stands to dominate the summer, with a knock-on effect on the England setup. Kane is desperate to lead the country to glory at the delayed Euro 2020 finals, which kick off on 11 June, and has previously said that he wants to focus everything on this goal, adding “we’ll see where we go from there”. The reality is that his future is now a live issue. The 27-year-old would prefer to stay in the Premier League, although he would be open to a switch to Spain.

Kane had thought about whether to leave Spurs last summer only to stay and fight for another season. He felt there was an acceptance from Levy that if he did so, the chairman would consider selling him this time, although that arrangement could well be disputed by Levy.

It is one thing for Kane to want to leave Spurs, as he despairs about the direction in which they are heading after a disappointing season, and another altogether to be able to get his wish. Kane has three years to run on the six-year contract that he signed in 2018, meaning that Levy would feel empowered to demand an astronomical fee for him. Would any rival be able to find that sort of money in the coronavirus era? Levy’s stance has long been that Kane is not for sale.
As previously reported, Kane might have to consider how badly he would be prepared to behave to force a move. Spurs stars who have wanted away in the past – chiefly Dimitar Berbatov, Luka Modric and Gareth Bale – had to dig in hard and withdraw cooperation to varying degrees to get out.
Kane has enjoyed an excellent season on a personal level. He is the Premier League’s joint top scorer with 22 goals and the leading assist maker with 13. But the team glory that he craves remains elusive, with Spurs lagging sixth in the league and having lost the Carabao Cup final to City.
A Spurs spokesman said: “We have a season to finish and we want to finish it as strongly as possible. That’s all we are focused on.”

Twat.

I doubt there’s a done deal; but I think that statement also reflects a bit of frustration at Kane that he has let his camp leak this before the season is over.
You know what's funny? If it's true and got to the media that way it's objectively worse than what Walker did to cause such a fallout with Poch at the end of his last season with us (i.e. go to him face to face to tell him he wanted the move to City toward the end of the season, but not the media, then got froze out of the side etc etc).

I'm not an idiot though so I'm aware there's a metric shit ton of caveats as to why we love Kane more than we would ever love Walker and he gets more leeway.

So sad that Kane has to leave for success.
The club is totally fucked , it will waste the
money on a striker versions of Le Celso,
Harry Potter next manager you couldn't make it up.
Levy is killing everything .

However long he remains here now, the "One of our own" song is no longer appropriate. I suggest the following alternative:

"He's a great striker,
He's a great striker
Harry Kane,
He's a great striker"

This strikes the right tone I believe, appreciative of him as a player whilst not pretending he has the special connection to the club that we thought he once did.

The root of all this was signing rubbish players in 2016, 2017 and 2018 summer windows instead of adding real qualities to elevate the squad.

This was a missed opportunity and will be talked about for decades to come

If the club and or Kane don’t nip this in the bud this morning, then it’s clearly true

I’m always sceptical about the media narrative but seems like there is too much of a storm here for it not to be true
