Ex-Spurs Player Harry Kane

Latest Spurs videos from Sky Sports

As long as Levy and ENIC are in charge of our club we're fucked and will always fall short.

Turn your ire on them not on an individual player who cost us nothing and has given us his all.

Some of you really ought to be embarrassed by your comments, talk about throwing your dummy out of the pram!

I get that it hurts but this has been on the cards for a while now. In a weird way it will be a relief once he does go, at least that way we can just move on and find the next star player(s).

Still don't see how he leaves unless he downs tools. If he does, don't blame him, blame Levy. Kane is at such a high level now he's mixing it with the top 2 or 3 playes in Europe, why would he want another season in the Europa league or even the poxy Europa conference? He's 28 this summer and has dodgy ankles. I dont see him playing at the top level at 32/33.

This is down to years of poor decisions from the board, lack of transfers, then poor make do and mend transfers, Mourinho and most importantly not backing our best manager in a generation.
Levy doesn't want to sell, how can it be on Levy when it's Kane that's pushing to leave?

Bale left because Bale wanted to leave, Walker left because Walker wanted to leave.

Again, there's a lot of rewriting history in that last para, it's very fair to say that Poch also responsible for not bringing in players, he's on record saying he would rather not sign anyone than the wrong one. The whole not being backed argument simply doesn't hold water either, Poch was given what he wanted (control of football) when he was promoted to manager and we as a Club had our hands tied financially whilst building a £1.2b stadium. These are a known set of circumstances, communicated to fans and something that Poch was and had agreed to work under, he knew that score when he signed his new contract.

For me, the biggest mistake was hiring the Dinosaur, called it at the time but half the fanbase were completely on board with it, running around outside White Hart Lane saying we've signed a winner blah, blah, blah. Those same fans now point the finger for something they clearly would have also done.

During this time too, we kept all of our players, as all of them were linked away with big money moves (Lloris, Kane, Dele, Son, Rose, Vertonghen, Eriksen etc) now it turns out reading most of the player thread in here that we should have sold, despite every single time our players were linked arguments went on for pages and pages about us being a "selling club".

It's highly unlikely that he will leave given his age and the amount of money it will cost to acquire him in a post-COViD world (in fact a post COVID world we are actually not in one yet and with new variants immerging it's hard to see a return to football with full stadiums for quite some time), so this puts him beyond the reach of all bar 5 Clubs in the World that would buy him.

The only 3 Clubs I could see him go to are City, Utd. PSG (whilst I don't see it as posible Chavs also have the means to acquire him).

BUT City have never spent more than £60m for a player and don't buy 28yrs olds, also they are high energy pressers Kane doesn't fit with this anymore. Utd are easily the more stupid and have an almost obsession with English players, with Kane as England Captain I can see them being all over this like a rash (but are Utd a serious step up than us? I'd say absolutely not, they are just a different animal financially). PSG are a fucking weird football club with a bizarre Sporting Director so who knows but I just don't see this move being great for Kane, everything about him both on and off the pitch suits the PL.

So, it really is impossible to see how this plays out.

But if those want to point fingers at someone then the reality is there is only one person to point the finger at if that's your want, KANE. If he wants to leave then it's in his hands.

Levy would sell to Aldi FC if the price is right

I almost would rather have 2 or 3 players from the team who want him than ££ as we’d know what we’d be getting . Thing is , who’d want to come here after being at a club that wins things.

I don't know...he fucked Chelsea off over Modric and he's fucked Utd off over a couple of players too

Has it occurred to you that Kane might have wanted Jose?

If the gentleman’s agreement was ‘one more year’ and ‘let’s just get a trophy’, his unimaginative hiring makes sense. Also explains why Jose had Kane’s backing to the end, as he knew this was the last throw of the dice and then he’s off.

The Athletic article, will quote the key bits:

Anger at Kane:
The Spurs hierarchy were deeply unimpressed with the timing of a story being broken by Sky Sports on Monday evening, believing it to be a unwelcome distraction at the start of a crunch week during which Tottenham will battle for European qualification managed by inexperienced 29-year-old interim boss Ryan Mason, a long-term friend of Kane’s.

Kane believes he has gentleman's agreement to leave:
There has been no meeting between Kane and Levy over the last few days in which the England captain revealed his position. The club have known how the 27-year-old has felt for weeks, if not for the whole season.

Kane believes that he has a gentleman’s agreement with Levy from last summer.
Manchester City enquired after him in the summer of 2020 and Levy turned them down. Kane wanted to go but was told by Levy to give him one more year. The player believes that this entitles him to a move this coming summer, but Levy is not going to give him what he wants.

Tottenham hierarchy will not sell this summer:
The view of the Tottenham hierarchy is that there is absolutely no chance of Kane leaving this summer, and especially not to any Premier League rival. They see Kane, who is competing to win his third Premier League Golden Boot in six seasons, as utterly irreplaceable and therefore do not see any value in letting him go.
That contract means Spurs retain the upper hand in any negotiations of this summer. They can afford to keep Kane against his will for the next year, knowing that he will still be a valuable asset in the summer of 2022. Kane does not have much leverage. He cannot run his contract down. It would take at least another season for his value to start going down.

Kane asked City players how living in the north west was like during the March international break:
While Kane was with the England squad in March, he is said to have asked the City players present what their lives were like, living in the north west. So much so that after the international break, those players were left with one very clear impression: that Kane was set for a move to the Etihad Stadium.

If teams want him & are willing to meet the price , I think it’ll be done . It’ll be ridiculous money which we’ll probably spaff on mediocrity.

Thats the key isn’t it...if they’re willing to meet the price (which by many accounts sounds like £150m ish).

Genuine question...would you sell Kane to PSG for £50m less than to Utd or city (so for £100m say)

If it’s money , I doubt it matters really . £50m is one & a half Sissoko’s . Personally, I’d rather 2 players & a bit of money .
