Agreed but it was our wage cap which raised with revenue. Most of our misses were not on fees (which we could compete) but wages which we couldn't or chose not to.

we got Son cheaper and less wages, so horses for courses, Son not quite as good as Mane maybe, but as a presence around club Son is 100% Mane I’m 50/50 if he’s a sullen suck your vibe away type…

My Swedish team, Hammarby won the cup today, first title since 2001. No people on the stands yet in Sweden. But pretty crowded outside.

There is a chance Spurs and Hammarby could meet in the Europa Conference League.

It’s more beautiful aesthetically than the CL one

It really is - very heavy, and the country flag of the winner is engraved onto the base. I've had the honour and pleasure to have my photo with it, and Keith Burkinshaw, Robbo, Chrissie Hughton, Danny Thomas and of course, hubby. Would never happen now, we wouldn't be allowed anywhere near it.

I wouldn’t mind if UEFA gave Rudiger a ban. No evidence it’s on purpose but players can be sent off for jeopardizing other players health

I think it is definitely on purpose, but for sure there'd be reason to consider that a 'reckless challenge', especially considering the injury De Bruyne sustained from it, no attempt at getting the ball, etc etc.

Seems like if you're clever and don't take someone out with your legs or elbow then you can get away with it.

The Bees always been my second team, my Dad played for their reserves in the late 50s - would be great to see them back in the top division - shame they're not still at Griffin Park, I had a few good burgers there back in the 80s.
Yes, I've got a spot spot for the Bees, too. Obviously with the Stevie connection, also they had a Maltese player on the books at the same time - John Buttegieg.
One of my friends had a job in the office at Brentford at the same time Stevie was there, and she got me an invitation into the players' lounge for one of their games. Can't remember who it was against or the date, but it would have been around 1990, as IIRC, we had a cup game against Man City on the Sunday, and that's why I was able to go along. Colin Lee was part of the coaching squad, and I met him, and also Chris Waddle and Paul Stewart. :)

Maybe Rudiger should have got a red but that’s the type of hard nosed cynicism that wins big matches, taking the oppositions main man out of the game and managing not to get a red in doing so.

Chavs aren’t any great shakes but they went out with a bloody minded attitude that they were going to play the game on their terms, grab the opportunity and weren’t going to lose. The manager got his selection spot on as well. 21 year old kids like Reece James and Mason Mount seizing the moment.

Some contrast to the softcock attitude that we’ve shown in just about every big game over the last decade. Beaten before we even take the field and looking for excuses as to why we’re going to lose before a ball is even kicked - usually it’s Levy’s fault because our starting XI didn’t cost £500 million. Bullshit selections, starting injured players, conceding first minute penalties, explaining away missed goal chances because XG rates are through the roof after filling the boots against the likes of Burnley and Southampton.
