  1. sp*rs had a better season than us, sacked their manager and are going after the best manager on the market. Herbert Chapman didn't die for this.

It is interesting that for as negative as we talk about Spurs how grudgingly other supporters are generally positive about how we are run.

So the club can afford to push out the boat a little further. And Spurs have been operating on a "wages no more than 50-55% of operating income" model for quite a while. That can shift too without adversely impacting the club's financials, especially at the revenue level we have reached, Covid notwithstanding. And I also think we can afford to have a loss in any given year now, something we couldn't (or maybe wouldn't) a few years ago. So plenty of ways to up our spending and "play by the rules."

I think I'm right in saying they can pump as much money in as they like for infrastructure, so likely we can also book cash influxes into the team against debt repayments for our infrastructure projects and get away with it that way.

Anyway don't believe for a second all the bullshit that gets leaked about big investment coming as it never amounts to anything at all, but there must be a clear path to FFP safety for us having just spent so much on the stadium.

No, you'd blame the idiots running the school for inviting the guy. But managers are not animals, and Conte is a grown ass man responsible for himself. If he walks into Spurs, without doing any research of his own on the club, and what working for it will be like, then false expectations will partly be on him. You do have a responsibility to do due diligence on your new employer before you accept the job.
