Hercules has spoken!

Yes, but no, but, yes but..............

News I received earlier, I would say journalists etc are a tad behind where things are at. I dear not say too much now I’m sober. But looking extremely good. But until it’s announced you never know. And that does not mean announcement is due anytime now. Just clarification that looking extremely good.

Joe to Conte:
2 Chainz Pockets GIF by MOST EXPENSIVEST

Picture the scene, Conte and Levy finish signing contracts....Levy goes to open the safe to put the contract in it.....all eyes pan to the safe and it's empty......Levy starts running round shouting "we've been robbed,, we've been robbed!"

I think they're going to keep putting attractions on the roof. A Ferris Wheel could be a ground breaker. The Dare should keep us ticking over, with a few new bits and pieces and some expensive Prosecco.

If conte comes in it's clear the club is going to have a right go financially. Once white hart lane is up and running, the NFL stuff, stadium rights we will.be in top 3 richest clubs in the world.

I have to strongly disagree with that statement. The manager is the figurehead of the club and represents the brand worldwide. Nobody gives a shit who the chairman of any club is, they care about the likes of Klopp, Pep, Poch, Wenger, Ferguson etc.

The manager is a direct bridge to the fans and is also the single most important thing when bringing value to the club considering that he is the main one responsible for how they perform on the pitch.
Sorry, no. the guy is not responsible for the club's values, nor are they the figurehead, unless your marketing team feels your team is full of losers no one likes.

The manager is definitely not a direct bridge to the fans either. He is someone who coaches the first team for a fixed period of time. Clubs with strongly established values and culture do not rely on the manager to provide it. They impose it on the manager.

When Bayern bring in a new coach they back him. Simple as. They backed Ancelotti, Kovac and many other coaches. They have an extensive setup at the back but they never bring in a manager with expectation that he will be sacked, that is just insanity if a club is operating like that. As I said power struggles may occur down the line or performances may dip but every single person within the setup of at those clubs is their to make sure that they get the right guy and that the guy is backed well. I can guarantee you that nobody at that club is scared of Nagelsmann underperforming in 2 years time.

It seems that within our current setup we are scared of investing too heavily into a manager in case he fails.
They don't back the manager. They manage the squad as they see fit. The manager gets to say if they feel certain players need to go, and they can have input on the kinds of replacements needed, but no, they don't "back" the guy. He gets told what he's getting, and is expected to get on with the job. They fully expect every coach they hire to eventually leave, and on their terms. If you think otherwise, you're ignoring their history over the past decade and a half.

Well Levy is not good at that either , what happened to Arnessen , Baldini and Commoli. His record on picking DOFs who he can work with is not exactly a positive
It isn't. But if you look across Europe, there are very few DoFs hired externally who actually do match well. Monchi did very well at Sevilla, where he came up through the ranks. Then he went to Roma and was awful. Zorc at Dortmund and Overmars at Ajax, who both are probably among the best DoFs out there, came up internally. Finding the guy who fits your culture and plans is not easy. Other than Campos at Lille and Rangnick/Mitchell at Red Bull I can't really think of a DoF who has come in and been a major success.

I am hopeful if we bring one in, and I think it is really, really important. The realization by Levy that he needs one because he's no longer got the skills for that is really important. It's the moment of clarity he's needed. But it's what goes back to my point. You have to run the club with the focus on its long term interests. Managers will come and go, you need to be careful about how much power you give them, or any one person. If there are concerns that Conte is asking for too much with his staff requirements, then it's fair to push back. We don't know what is actually being asked for. I think that Conte should have some specific demands from his side, and those are fair as well. He should definitely be demanding a DoF making player decisions instead of Levy, for his own protection. Levy seems to want one anyway. If Conte wants more first team coaches because he wants some specialized rolls, that is something to consider. If Conte wants control of the Academy, I would definitely not be happy with someone agreeing to that. But that's all hypotheticals we don't know the specifics of. We're melting down over media rumours right now.
