I’ll be excited but very nervous if we get Conte. I’m just not sure we’re ready for him. He’ll cost a lot and demand backing and control that DL is going to be very uncomfortable with. I still think TH is a better fit for us. Cultured, classy and crucially used to developing talent, replacing players and keeping an identity of a team together through change. I’m still hoping we get him.
I can see us not getting Conte and ending up appointing Potter now the season ticket renewal deadline is passed. It is typical Levy brinkmanship negotiation tactics. He does not realise how close to being fucked because of his decisions we are.
The whole mess of a manager search has been a disgrace like the appointment of Mourinho. Their is no plan or reason to our footballing decisions. We have now got close twice in recent years to being a Club that really challenges and is constantly in the top 4 challenging for the league title but the simple lack of any recognisable plan halts us every time. Look at the summer we chased Isco who was a dream target at the time we were never wiling to pay the asking price but we tried to negotiate for weeks only when we missed out on him to completely overpay for Sissoko because he had a good euros when Chelsea bought Kant for £2m more and Liverpool bought Wijnaldum for less, both of whom are 20 times the player Sissoko has ever been.

Our fanbase really has conditioned itself into always expecting the worst.
Few fanbases are as fatalistic as Spurs. Especially for a club that is doing as well as we are right now.
