Ten Hag is not a candidate anymore, according to some reports.Problem is now Poch is gone and so we will be scrambling for Ten Hag or Potter otherwise be left with the dregs of Howe and Martinez. Hopefully this is not true and Conte comes.

Going from Conte to Potter would be one of the biggest Levy disaster in terms of fucking shit up and there weren’t only a few. That’s basically Potter or bust then if Conte falls through. The thought of Martinez here makes me feel ill.

This really sums it up well. It would be a colossal waste of everyone’s time if he’s gone down the Conte, or Poch route without having any serious ambitions of proper backing them.Agree but this is on Levy. If we are not in a financial position to support a Conte we should never have gone down that route and raised fan expectations. Ten Hag and Potter are the obvious development/project managers to pick (other than Poch) with proven project development skills working with young players, tight budgets playing progressive Pep style football. I had no issue with either of them and they IMO would do well with us.
Conte is a superstar manager who would need a superstar budget, that means big transfers and big wages. You don’t go down that route unless you are serious about the financial backing.
I’ve already said mate, this club has no structure, no plan going forward, just throw some shit at the wall and see what sticks. I’m pretty sure Levy lucked on Poch aswell since he was like the third option? Of course every manager is a gamble but it’s less of a gamble when you have continuity, look at RB clubs. Proper structure means same type of managers are being brought through and hired. Their academies coach a very similar pattern to what the first team is playing so when the young players get promoted, they already know what to expect so they adapt much quicker.Agree but this is on Levy. Will I be disappointed if we don’t end up with Conte? Yea I guess. But I still think there is merit to having a guy like Potter,Ten Hag, or Rangnick come in and do a proper rebuild and include our youngsters.
Problem is it's a very big risk, so many managers from the Dutch league have failed. It's not like he's taken his brand of football around other leagues in Europe. I do rate him but I think it will be a massive punt. Whilst Potter is a dull appointment (for me) at least he has been managing in the Premiership and knows what to expect. I think we need to aim a little higher.I’ll be excited but very nervous if we get Conte. I’m just not sure we’re ready for him. He’ll cost a lot and demand backing and control that DL is going to be very uncomfortable with. I still think TH is a better fit for us. Cultured, classy and crucially used to developing talent, replacing players and keeping an identity of a team together through change. I’m still hoping we get him.

I said Conte wouldn’t work because we’re not the type of a club he’d work with, and I was really surprised when he agreed to come here. I still think it’ll happen just that if Levy is not doing the right thing, he’ll take this club to where he took it from.
Potter-Chino did you say? That’s basically Potter or bust then if Conte falls through. The thought of Martinez here makes me feel ill.

That’s true but he has done pretty well in Europe given Ajax’s relatively small financial clout. It’s more his culture of continually developing and bringing in players, including youth, but holding on to a stable dynamic and way of playing, all of which are pretty attractive to me. Doesn’t look like he’s in the running now so it’s somewhat academic!Problem is it's a very big risk, so many managers from the Dutch league have failed. Finally!Spend all our budget on conte and his 20 staff. Few quid left over to buy Glenn Murray to replace Kane
