I dont mean to sound like a snob but surely this is a Palace or Everton level appointment? Aren't we supposed to be a big club now the stadium is finished? Or are we just a big club when it comes to charging our fans for tickets?
Granted i will get behind him but this is a worrying sign of things to come!

It’s the fit that is the issue. Potter was split between fans but he is a positive attacking coach who can work with younger players which in theory ticks our boxes. Bielsa is a wild man but his football would be fun, heck even Howe would be something.

I could get behind each one of those in a positive way. I won’t boo against Nuno but his football style means I expect nothing not even entertainment next season and I probably won’t be coming to the lane much if at all, £60 for Joseball, no thanks.

Yep.

We’re pleading poverty. We’ll now shop for Mendes players in the 10 to 20 million category, offset by sales.

Note that FFP has been suspended to allow owners to make up for the short fall in revenue. Pretty sure Lewis will not spend a penny.

...and yet Everton are about to appoint Benitez... who is widely regarded as a top class manager, and not necessarily a step down from Anceloitti...

But apparently we're above him as well, and he reminds people of a Spanish Waiter 'cos of his little goatee beard, and talks like he's got cream cheese stuck in his teeth...

Still, at least Nuno E-S can fit a 3-course meal in HIS beard!

whilst I appreciate the detailed response on Nuno, I think this post sounds extremely bitter. I’m no fan of him coming and certainly feel it’s a very underwhelming appointment, but surely you need to show a little more respect ? The guy got your club promoted and had you finish in the top 7 twice which is your highest ever Premier league finishes and got you in the Europa quarter finals too. For a club that is relatively small like Wolves, this is some job he’s done. Yes, agreed you were poor last season in comparison but anyone would be if you lost your best player to injury. Jimenez to you is like Kane to us. He is your star player. This is in no way Nuno is going to be great, but I think your post comes across as incredibly ungrateful. From what I have seen on Wolves forums, they are all upset he’s coming to us as they don’t want another premier league club with him in charge. He really can’t be thought of that badly then like you seem to convey.

No, not bitterness at all.

In terms of what he's done for the club, yes it's been great, but he's hardly done it on a shoestring. What other promoted clubs come up then sign the Portugal national team goalkeeper? There was massive investment in the club.

In terms of Jimenez' injury, it was exacerbated by his fetishization of the small squad. We signed Cutrone as a backup but Nuno couldn't handle an unhappy bench striker so sent him on loan, and preferred to risk it. Jimenez played 90 mins every week for 2 years non stop without an injury, and Nuno took that record for granted and didn't actively try get a backup.

Wolves forums also think Matt Doherty was an incredible player for wolves and a club legend. I remember him plodding around league 1 4 stone overweight and showing no willingness to track back.
Wolves forums were wanting to keep him out of fear of the unknown.

They were making all sorts of excuses for the poor performances.
Injuries aren't his fault - yes but they were made worse by his small squad. He would play players through injury and then they were longer term absentees.
He was apparently depressed and this was taking its toll on the team.
He missed his family and it meant our players were performing poorly.

Look at wolves twitter for the past 12 to 18 months for a better perspective.

I think working in a DoF set up, it should hopefully take the squad management off of his hands.

Obviously its still up to him to use the players, but he'll be "coach" - not "manager", and so buys arent in his remit

I've backed up all of my points with stats and evidence, I'd understand the bitterness comment if you had poached him from us but we sacked him.

Search "Nuno solutions" in twitter, you'll see what I mean.

In terms of respect what do you want me to say? I'm being brutally honest. First two seasons were amazing, the last two I've felt like scratching my eyes out every time we've played.

He will not be a success at spurs.

Players like working with him, I'd like to know why he parted from Wolves ?

Let's see ...........................

Fair do's.

However, I think it's fair to say; looking at the poll that there was no unifying choice.... Even Conte received a staunch "no" from many.

There's a reason the forum is referred to as Mong-mix, it's filled with cretins.

At least it rules out Mason !

I will be, and so will anyone who isn't a complete knob.

I'll rally against Levy, no problem, but I'm not blaming Nuno because of Levy's twattishness.

Not supporting Nuno will not help in any way, shape or form. So shut the fuck up.
I don't blame him. He seems a nice guy and I won't post notonuno or Nuno out. But with his style of football and the Mendes connection we really don't need to change anything. Better save the money than bringing in more deadwood a la Gedson and Vinicius.

Sacked Mourinho to hire B-Tech Mourinho. This fucking club will be the end of me... I'll support Nuno (is there any other option?), but I'm pretty scared for our club going into the future. It seems that Levy has become Mendes bitch now...

Let's be honest Santos was the only one left. He was cheap. Would agree to the levy constraints and available. The ambitious targets all floated around season ticket renewal time would of pushed the club forward (haag, conte or poch) but levy failed to land them. I really hope I am wrong and he ends up being a glorious appointment but I suspect it may be levy's last appointment and we are in for a lot of pain. Would love to be proved wrong.

Digging a misery hole over a couple of loans (especially Vin, who as a backup striker served his purpose) is a waste of energy.
