the Nuno blow will certainly be softened if we show we are serious and bring in a couple of serious players.

Kounde/Skriniar as well as the Japanese lad would be a good start.

I assume we are in contact with them to find out about their clients that cost a 10th of Kounde.
They represent Tchouameni from Monaco who looks very good, and nobody else of note really. Except for Mike Maignan, who signed for Milan a month ago for a reasonable fee in a swiftly concluded deal.

No idea how we make Kounde happen, unless they plan to use funds that none of us expect them to.

Ok, I'm not overly excited at us getting Nuno. But i will back him. I also see another positive.

Nuno isn't the "I want control over everything manager". He's happy managing. (According to some Athletic article).

I think the optimal way to run a team is where the clubs management decides on a style of play. This is how Tottenham plays football, they hire a DOF and a manager with the same vision.

The manager together with the DOF identifies what type of players that are needed and the DOF's job is to find and get these players. The manager trusts the DOF and accepts the players he get. The DOF gets a budget and free hands.

The management follows up and assess the DOF periodically and the DOF does the same with the manager.

The manager just manages.

I don't know if any clubs works like this, I think Ajax and The red bull teams are pretty close and Bayern Munich a bit.

So I'm fairly happy with this Levy, Paratici, Nuno set up in theory.

It'll probably crash and burn in practice but I will back it and give it a chance.
