Surely no point buying hickledy pickeldy players when we should just a few quality players and use the youth players and some of our existing squad? Isak is one we should defo go for and the DZ player who scored a hatrick v us who came on yday v Spain helped turn it around. I’m sure he wouldn’t cost too much either.

Disagree with this - a tweak in certain positions will still have a big improvement IMO. Dier, Aurier, Sanchez, Winks, Sissoko are all so bad that a half decent PL player will see a massive improvement

We have a lot of poor squad players. We will not be upgrading the team with eight "top 4" players.
If we can sign players a rung below that to replace the likes of Winks, Dier, Aurier, Sissoko etc. we will be in a stronger position.

Good, versatile player, room to get better. strong, quickish, can play RB, CB and even LB, decent crossing, good lofted passes, maybe a bit safe with short passing but very tidy in his movement with the ball, somewhat passive at times in that he waits for the right moment to tackle, doesn't lunge and expose defense, had a tough time vs Lukaku, think he had very good games vs Zlatan/Immobile.
Not the transformational Kounde/Skriniar signing that fixes our defence, but I'm very happy we might be bringing him in. I could see him playing on the right of a back three in the same way Azpilicueta does. A smart signing of the like Leicester or Leipzig have been making recently.

So does he feel like a RB signing or RCB signing? I’m always a little bit wary of bits and bobs signings, but this lad obviously is very highly regarded.

There are other players out there, but it's frustrating how efficiently they get their business done. If we sign Malen, Thuram, Neto or whoever then it's not a big deal, if we don't bring in quality it's a different story.
