Yeah 100% not going to backtrack I was one of the first to moan about his “negative” selections , but he has got it spot on so far. Italy got smacked around a bit by Spain in the midfield, but England don't really have a Pedri/Modric metronome type of player to dictate the pace of the match. England will (and should) try and suck the life out of proceedings and rely on their superior attacking talent to come through. Sterling/Saka/Sancho will be absolutely thrilled to be going against that Italian backline, Rice/Phillips/Mount just need to kill any Italian transition to take the pressure off the CBs.
