Ex-Spurs Player Harry Kane

Latest Spurs videos from Sky Sports

What a shame. I thought he would leave this summer, but what was the need in doing this? Could have seen him leave on good terms however he’s well on his way to ruining his legacy here. As others have said, no man is bigger than the club.

Harry has given his all for this football club and got next to nothing in return. Only very recently did the slap-head put him on the sort of money he long before deserved and again he gave his all.

When he goes he will lose not an ounce of respect from me. I won’t like seeing him in the colours of a rival club but God speed to him I hope he wins at least the trio of an FA cup, a Premier league, and a European Champions league in his IMO three remaining years as Englands most prolific striker- he certainly won’t win more than a mediocre league cup if he stays here!

So why haven’t the Club made an announcement about that?
The Club were expecting him to turn up!

Doesnt add up

So he thinks he’s bigger than the Club

:nunofacepalm:
Well. Quite. At this moment we don’t know for sure what is happening here.

If he’s not turned up for training then that’s going to be about as low a move as a professional player can undertake.

Neither ENIC or Kane are getting any credit the way this is going on.

Either way I'll say this for the 1000th time Levy/Spurs hold all the power.
Unfortunately, that's just not true.

Strictly speaking, yes, they have a contract, but star players have enormous leverage in where they play. Not showing up to training, being disruptive to force through a move.

I'd always thought we would get one more season out of him, but maybe not.

It's how Levy rolls, you ain't getting out with our "Gentlemans Agreement" Harry, unless you are portrayed as the villain in the press, to take the focus from the Clubs part in it all.

I think that most fans would not begrudge Harry a move. But the way that he is going about it is not the right way.

Has the club been on a downswing the last two seasons and have the back office made mistakes? Yes on both. But you still need to act professionally as long as you are under contract. Spurs have no moral obligation to lower their valuation on him. Nor should we be shamed for sticking to it.

For comparison's sake, Pierre and Gio ended their vacations early to be ready for the new season according to Alasdai Gold. And Pierre spent his vacation on his honey moon.

You can play hard ball in negotiations within acting like a cunt.

Also imagine how Nuno is feeling this morning

Not my first choice but I’m right behind him because he’s our manager now and I hope he does a great job for us

So I really feel for him expecting his star player to show up for training and to prepare the side for the City game and he swerves us

TBF Nuno seems to be a smart man. He's probably been struck by the thought of Kane playing hard ball at some point since signing.

I expect him to have some contingency plan.

I'm in the "wait and see" camp regards training. Was told in a sort-of 'in the know' that he wasn't going to play the first two games of the season regardless, so he may report back a little later to training than the others.

However, he has 3 years(?) left on his deal and nobody held a gun to his head and made him sign it. As far as any 'gentleman's agreement' goes, that is null and void if he has decided to not turn up to train - the club pays him to do so.

There's a World Cup soon and in Harry's own words, playing for England means the most to him. IMO, he is too driven and professional to mess that up and he is also in pursuit of individual goal-scoring records. If City won't pay a ridiculous fee (which we are rightly asking for) then he will buckle down and play for us until such time that he either gets his move or changes his mind about it and decides to stay.

And also, those who give Levy shit for this are absolutely right. Kane wants a move because he doesn't feel he can win here. He just top scored and top assisted in the Premier League and the players around him were so shit that we finished 7th. Kane has been doing his job on the pitch, Levy has failed in his off the pitch. If/when we sell Kane, don't let Levy get away with it by directing all your ire at Harry.
Yes Levy is at fault for appointing Mourinho. Yes we under invested in the team while building the stadium none of that matters when compared to a man who bribes people to build his house I. The Seychelles and ends up killing poor innocent people.

Fuck me, if 200k a week is "next to nothing in return" I'll take all the "next to nothing" you can throw at me.

I understand his frustrations, and don't we all? Don't we all wish we were challenging? Doesn't mean I can overlook just not turning up to work and acting like a brat. Man City have virtually unlimited funds. They want him they can cough up. This behaviour is unforgivable.
