Ex-Spurs Player Harry Kane

Latest Spurs videos from Sky Sports

This happens every time a star player wants out, we hear about Gentleman's Agreements being broken and the player having to look bad in order to force through a move that usually doesn't take place until the final days of the window.

They get all the shit whilst Levy comes out of it smelling of roses.

It's pretty obvious that a deal has already been agreed and the player is made to look like the 'enemy' instead as per Levy's terms.

You know when you've been Levy'd, at least some fans do. Others are looking for a scapegoat and imo are looking in the wrong place!
100%. Over the last 12 years we've had stories of Berbatov, Modric, Bale and now Kane refusing to train. The latter 3 supposedly had gentlemens agreements in place. It does seem like a PR/damage limitation operation everytime one of our best players wants to leave. The players and his agent cop the flak and no one is asking why these players feel they have to leave to be successful. Not saying they are all paragons of virtue but something stinks.

Said this once and I’ll say it again. I wish he’d stay, but if it comes down to him playing one more season and getting sold next, that’s a bad move. He needs to be sold now. First we aren’t gonna win the league this year with him and his value is as high as it will be and the chances of him having a better season this year than last is low. Plus with his injury record you never know what will happen. Get 120 for him and buy a 23 year old up and comer.

Where’s this “ waiting for a Covid result “ come from ? I’m sure he knew when he was due back & would have taken a test in advance to return on time .

A gentleman's agreement isn't worth the paper it's not written on. Levy never told Kane he can leave, at best he would have said we will let you go if our asking price is met.

Kane is being a silly boy if he's on strike, uber wealthy strikers are not exactly nurses who deserve some sympathy. He signed for 6 years, he now wants out, Spurs will maximize the fee as they should. That's the deal, the only deal that counts. Hope he's fined for not turning up if it's true he didn't.

There is many things that frustrate me with this Harry Kane saga and the majority of them I'm repeating from my own point of view and other posters.

Harry Kane is a great player, but this 'trophy' situation still really irritates me, he's played in one of the most successful Tottenham teams on the pitch in recent years and couldn't win anything. He's also the player that's had a chance to win 3 major trophies in the last seven years or so (Prem League, Champions League and League cup final x2). Not to mention the numerous Semi Finals we've failed in.

Why don't these players ever think of the fans? I know people will say that they don't care (which is true to a certain extent) but I thought Kane would be different. Does he not want to see this 'When did Tottenham last win a trophy?' banter disappear? Does he not want to win a trophy with Tottenham where he is currently a legend (despite not winning a trophy?). Surely that's more worthwhile then going City who imo are a disgrace of a club and shouldn't be getting away with spending £200+ million on two players potentially.

Another thing is the argument that Tottenham/Levy hasn't backed Harry Kane's ambition. Nonsense. The club has developed massively, new ground/training facilities etc not to mention that Daniel Levy appointed a WORLD CLASS manager in Jose Mourinho who Kane by all accords backed massively. It's a disgrace if Kane downs tools. It's all well and good sticking around with the good times, but when the things have a got abit tough Kane and his brother have decided that they are too good for us now.

I'm not gonna get into the England situation either.

You mean the man who is hated by a notable chunk of our fan-base? ....That guy? LOL

If as you claim, as deal has already been struck, then why would Harry need to bunk training? .....He could just go through the motions safe in the knowledge that he was gonna get what he wants..... Or if it really bothered him he could take one look at the twitter storm and tweet to the effect that he's leaving.

No.... Players want their cake and to eat it too.

"Love me after I leave you" rarely works in real life.
What’s the point in having a cake if you can’t eat the fucker?

A 3 year contract does however give us plenty of time. In fact much more than Kane so let the fcuker stew.
No it doesn't actually. At some point it would go to the CAS and would be ruled on. Or he could just half-ass it and we'd be fucked. It's the reason people get sold when they want to and why Levy said what he said (postd earlier) about the player having all the power. It does us no good to have Harry walking around on the pitch avoid injury and stinking the joint up. It's foolish to suggest "we hold all the cards" like folks are making out round here. We should have sold on our terms seasons ago and rebuilt.

Atalanta has an option to buy him - which they are exercising. So Romero is an Atalanta player. Otherwise, why would Spurs be negotiating with Juve rather than Atalanta.
You say i don't understand the true feelings of genuine Spurs fans yet you say you don't care how genuine Atalanta fans think about losing their best player. And try to make me feel guilty So it's all about you as a Spurs and nothing else matter...
Oh, again - for the n'th amount of time - I do NOT condone Kane's action of not turning up for training. But all I know is that Levy & Lewis have broken verbal promises in the past - hoping for the best
But anyone who disagrees with you is dumb

Righto

You called me a Twonk already..... You should see the scar! :baletroll:

- Son wanted to stay.
- Romero wants in. Gil was eager to sign... 2 blossoming European hotshots right there in one window.
- Recently, we nearly won the league & CL even though our ambitions at the time were to become a top 4 team and build a new stadium to further inject cash into our squad.

If any other top clubs wanted Gil he wouldn't have joined us. Not to say he isn't or can't become a very good player. But he's a signing with potential, that's it. Romero hasn't joined yet, and although a good signing for us, still isn't a Varane or Kounde level signing. Son staying will probably be our best bit of business this summer, but as he was already here anyway he's not improving us further obviously. And nearly this and that doesn't cut it. Regardless, we actually had a good team a few years back and are a million miles away from that now.

In my opinion you're really clutching at straws.

How can he not be any worse? Did you not watch anything of Wolves last season? Wolves fans were literally dancing in the grotty streets of the black country after he was sacked. I hope he does well, why wouldn't I? I'm always happy to eat humble pie if and when I'm wrong. But we went from Conte to Espirito Santo. Embarrassing.
There was no chance of us ever signing Conte

Clever ruse by Levy just before season ticket renewal

I’m getting behind him as I did Jose

Well that's just it. You're butt hurt and you want to "argue", not debate.

You're one of them numpties that insists anyone is clueless that doesn't share your opinion. Literally the worst of the worst.
No I’m not at all

But your mate Pathfinder Pathfinder probably is as anyone who disagrees with him is dumb apparently
