Ex-Spurs Player Harry Kane

Latest Spurs videos from Sky Sports

Completely agree that currently we aren't in a position to be winning trophies, but we were only a few years ago.

The team we had with the players you mention we did everything but win a trophy. had we won a trophy Levy would be genius. Unfortunately the players/manager weren't able to get us over the line at the time.

We had a poor season last year, mainly because of a dinosaur manager who fucked the club and the squad over massively. 7th still isn't a bad finish in the grand scheme of things but nowadays it's seen as a disaster.

I have a feeling 7th will look like a wonderful achievement compared to the upcoming season.

As for Kane he only leaves when City come up with the right amount of money as decided by Levy et al. That's how it works when you sign a 6 year contract and going on strike (if he is) isn't gonna change that.
At some point an asset becomes devalued. There is only 1 team bidding so you ain't breaking the bank as demand is low. If RM get Mbappe and City get Haanland then where else is there to go for the player? He ain't going to France. We do not hold "all the cards" as is being suggested. You must sell when the market exists not just when you think your asset is most valuable.
In this particular instance Levy should be holding out for a massive fee - why would a Spurs fan want him to sell Kane for less than he's worth?
Don't think anyone is suggesting we sell Kane for less than 'he's worth'. But there is always a decent disparity between what Levy values our players for and what the market does. Shall I introduce you to Moussa Sissoko our starting MFer who is still here? Or Eric Dier? Just look at what happened with Eriksen and how he was priced out of a move only for us to receive nothing in terms of performance in return and very little in terms of finances in return. You sell when the market exists for a player and quite often it is one year too early than one year too late. We are always 1 year too late to our detriment but that's probably because this idea of free agency is not really appreciated in European sport.

Nothing wrong with him having second thoughts, he has reason in truth.

However, if he wants out then man up and put in a transfer request. We can then advise the World that we have, reluctantly, put Kane up for sale, at his request, but the price is £ 160M plus, or whatever the club decides is his value, citing that he's the best striker in the World with 3 years left on his contract. Get it out in the open so the World can see it.

Kane has the same superstar status as the likes of Neymar, Mbappe, etc. He's a level up from the likes of Griezeman, Coutinho et Al, and they went for North of £120M, so his price should reflect that.
The valuation of a football player is no different to the valuation of a house. Just because your neighbours mansion sold for £125M it doesn’t mean your mansion is going to sell for that price- yes you would base your selling price on what that next door mansion sold for but ultimately a house like a player is only worth what the market will bare and thanks to the likes of the owners of Chelsea and Man City today we talk Monopoly money figures.

Harry wants to go so take what the market will bare!

So you dont think city Chelsea and PSG are a cancer in football that needs to be cut out. You think that these clubs with there dreadful owners are good for football and not just the plastics that support these clubs.
You sure your spurs?

I do not think that owners who inject money and use said money to build the club is cancer to football. That is absolutely correct.

Owners that lend money to clubs and bring the clubs into great debt, and use the lent money to buy players and overpay wages are a much bigger problem.

If anything is "cancer" (a term I wouldnt use for such a discussion), it is owners who are only in it to exploit the game and extract money, such as the Glazers, and other owners that push for changes to enrich the big clubs at the expense of the smaller ones.

The owners of United, Woolwich, Liverpool, Real Madrid, Barcelona, Juventus, are the evil cunts (football club upper management wize, I am still not discussing the background of the owners), way more than those who own Chelsea, PSG and Chelsea.

My view is that you who think the opposite, who prefers the money-draining owners over the money-investing owners, have swallowed a narrative that the conspiracy theorist in me will say has been put out there by people trying to protect the position of the "big clubs" from the big leagues (meaning those that happened to be the biggest when PL and CL were introduced, who then got a lot more money and exposure than other clubs) (i do not believe it is a conspiracy, rather that people try to defend that which they support and will make up any excuse to do so even if it is unreasonable)

I think the next day or two will be key in this saga.
Reports seem to suggest that he wasn’t due for training today anyway, he was due in for tests including possibly a COVID test. He hasn’t missed training yet as he’s not due to start until tomorrow.
It’s also been suggested that him not being on site today is by his own choice, but the reporting is ambiguous in that nobody has confirmed whether this is with or without the clubs permission.
If he doesn’t turn up tomorrow there is perhaps more afoot, but at the moment its probably just a load of hot air over nothing.

What I will find interesting is if he shows up tomorrow.

They are seeing some of the reactions from pundits and supporters, and still have the ability to show up tomorrow and both he and the club could make it out to be a covid test issue to try to save face.

Paratici didn’t mention any meeting in his interview earlier or Covid
I don't think the club mind the rumours at all. I'm going to shout this for the melts:

THERE'S NO SUCH THING AS BAD PUBLICITY.

So all this speculation means people are talking about us, the best striker in the PL and whether or not he's staying. If he leaves (he won't), more money for us, if he goes then we're amazing and more fans will come to us. win-win.

Well then he needs to say something. He needs to defend himself if so. Silence is a big indication for me. If Spurs and Kane say nothing over the next few days, then clearly something is happening

His role model is Tom Brady, maybe he should take some lessons from him on how to actually be a leader and win and have some class like Brady does rather than sulking and throwing his toys out of the pram.
Brady has now played for two organizations that surrounded him with talent and structure to win. And Brady did pull some shit a few seasons ago when Belichick wanted rid of him.

Modric isn't Kane. Modric was never seen as Mr. Spurs like Harry Kane has been to many over the years, so it's hardly a fair comparison.
Modric wanted to leave, as does Kane, but the club refused to sell and he stayed for a year and played well. Kane wants goal scoring records and to play well at the next World Cup, so for totally selfish reasons he has motivation to play well for us if he stayed. We can get £100m a year from now with the added bonus of 20 league goals and a bunch of assists from Harry next season. We do not need to sell for anything other than a stupid amount of money and frankly, we don't want to set that precedent (that we'll sell our best player for a 'reasonable' fee). All clubs should know that if you come for our best player when they have years to run on their contract, you'll have to pay a transfer fee that will make your arse bleed.
