Ex-Spurs Player Harry Kane

Latest Spurs videos from Sky Sports

City aren't under any pressure, but neither are Spurs. They can make Kane be a ball boy for 3 years. Would it be smart? No, because he'd be a very expensive ball boy. Can they do it? Yes, because he's under contract for 3 years.
No they cant.

A contracted senior player who doesn’t feature in at least 10% of first team games is able to end their contract and walk for free.

Good Kane is better than 90% of the strikers nowadays.

That could be true however as I have outlined earlier in the thread there is many reasons to think that we might not get 90% Kane this year.

And it isn't just 90% Kane versus other strikers it is 150m (or whatever the number is) for Kane to be used to strengthen the team or Kane being unhappy for a year and then much less money for him when he leaves.

Spurs fans who think Kane hasn't done anything wrong here are objectively fucking weirdos.

If Kane wants to maximize his chances of getting a transfer and is willing to do anything to make it happen, fine, that's his choice, but to act like he's not doing anything wrong with the leaked stories, the Sky interview, refusing to train, etc...is a crazy stance to take.

He's not a striking coal miner during the turn of the 20th century. He's a professional footballer who signed a contract guaranteeing him £60m in wages and another possible £30m in bonuses.

No one man is bigger than the club and I hope Spurs make the best possible decision for the club because that's the only thing that matters.
I don't think any of us know what really went on behind the scenes, so we don't have the information to accurately judge.

So. How come City have not gone public with a £150m offer ? Because they are aiming to do a deal @ much less. If they are doing a deal at much less, which way it that to our advantage ? Even Ings would be £50m so what do we gain out of this ? The conclusion has to be that City see Spurs as financially weak and easy pickings, they have not gone anywhere else to get the striker they need so something is convincing them they can take Kane. Let’s be honest they could get Calvert Lewin in at 1/3 of the money he would score goals and he would win the title. So what’s the real reality with this ? Kane’s contract demands huge compensation for THFC. So pay it or fuck off. But the fact is they are hanging around like flies to shit for some reason and that reason seems ominous to me. Are we actually totally skint in football terms and city know it. Anything under £150m now makes no sense to Tottenham unless we really need to sell. Our window so far certainly looks weak and does not smack of investment. Golli the Goalie is nothing to convince me we are not looking at 12-8th next season.
It could be seen in many ways . Maybe it’s all done & they’ve agreed not to make it public at the request of Levy so he can be not seen as a chairman with a huge wad of cash in his pocket desperate to get a quality striker in .

Personally , & I’m not happy about it , I think he will go at the end of the window & we’ll probably get Ings in. I’m really surprised if Kane is dealing with this the way the press are reporting it though.

What do you know nuffing. only what sky sports tell you so all thats going on is speculation. What if his wife or daughter is sick, what if he ask levy for an extra day to sort some shit out, what if his flight was delayed and made home late last night. PURE SPECULATION and we are acting like gossip girls spreading speculation.

That can't be true. Look at back up keepers. No way they play more than 10 percent of games in a normal season
15 Terminating a contract with sporting just cause
An established professional who has, in the course of the season, appeared
in fewer than ten per cent of the official matches in which his club has been involved may terminate his contract prematurely on the ground of sporting just cause. Due consideration shall be given to the player’s circumstances in the appraisal of such cases. The existence of sporting just cause shall be established on a case-by-case basis. In such a case, sporting sanctions shall not be imposed, though compensation may be payable. A professional may only terminate his contract on this basis in the 15 days following the last official match of the season of the club with which he is registered.

You said he's done nothing wrong. Contractually, he has. We can say that, because his contract isn't null and void.

You support his actions, that's different than saying he has "done nothing wrong".

I think we are talking about semantics here.

I think he can refuse to show up to training without his contract being null and void, it happens all the time with athletes and non-athletes.

I have no issue with what he did and support his actions. To me that fits with my saying he did nothing wrong.
