Ex-Spurs Player Harry Kane

Latest Spurs videos from Sky Sports

Another questions about this Gentleman's Agreement. What leverage did Kane have even a year ago to come up with this agreement? He still had 4 years left on his contract with no out-clause then.

How does that work? what was the "or what" from Kane's side?

He can be unhappy, but he'll play because he's too fucking great to not perform.
With 2 years on his contract, 100M next summer is reasonable.

An unhappy Kane is unlikely to perform at his best no matter how professional he is. Now that is still potentially a good performance but if we got a fair offer for him, one that fit with our valuation of him but kept him to teach him a lesson that hurts that club. That is not a smart move.

Most people are not professional athletes, it is no comparable to most people.

And I imagine Kane would love nothing more than to be sacked by Spurs, it would make things much easier for him.
With the sacking would a lawsuit for breach of contract and pursuit of monetary damages. Don't think he cares for that bit.

He's an extremely well paid employee who's throwing a strop like a child because his employer is expecting him to honour the agreement that he, himself, bargained. Fuck off trying to make excuses for him.

Good Kane is better than 90% of the strikers nowadays.

I predict:

1. City don't offer a suitable fee
2. Kane comes to his senses and comes crawling back on his knees to the training ground
3. We say give us one more year - look we've signed Romero and Vlahovic! Top 4 guaranteed.
4. He leaves for 80-100m next summer.

He can whine all he wants but there is literally no way Levy accepts 100m. I would be astounded if he accepts anything below 150m so the ball is really in City's court.

None of that is going to happen so it is a bit silly to talk about. We are not going to sack him or sue him either. That would be by far the worse case scenario for Spurs and Spurs fans.

He is well paid athlete that is disappointed his employer lied to him, he is acting fine and done nothing wrong at all.

Spurs fans who think Kane hasn't done anything wrong here are objectively fucking weirdos.

If Kane wants to maximize his chances of getting a transfer and is willing to do anything to make it happen, fine, that's his choice, but to act like he's not doing anything wrong with the leaked stories, the Sky interview, refusing to train, etc...is a crazy stance to take.

He's not a striking coal miner during the turn of the 20th century. He's a professional footballer who signed a contract guaranteeing him £60m in wages and another possible £30m in bonuses.

No one man is bigger than the club and I hope Spurs make the best possible decision for the club because that's the only thing that matters.

The problem with this Gentleman’s Agreement is that unless it’s in writing, or the discussion Kane had with Levy was recorded, it’s difficult for Kane to prove anything and force Levy’s hand

This means I agree with your post and the triangle was the best I could find when looking for an up arrow. I agree 100 per cent. He had my complete backing and whether he stays or leaves I will always love him...but he's being a right soppy twat if he thinks this bullshit endears him to anyone....
I dunno what he wants us to do: we clearly will let him go if we get a bid matching a fair value...just like any other player. It's not our fault he's so fucking good and so fucking valuable so he's created this situation himself and stuck himself in a 3 year left on contract situation.
Levy won't fucking give in if he plays this silly bullshit game and if he does then fuck him.
Haha, nice one. Look everyone 2 people on here being nice to each other 😄😄

Levy is not to be trusted. Pre / post. He is always ENIC first. Whatever happens next do not forget there is not one example of him retaining a significant player. And very few examples of succession planning. Where is Dembele’s replacement ? For example. The worst thing about the loss of Kane is that ENIC remain. And it’s rinse and repeat. Again.

We've just secured Sonny's future.

Kane himself was retained despite an ever growing spotlight not too long ago..... In fact all of Poch's golden boys were..... Poch himself was given a fat new deal to fend off hawks like Utd & RM.... (The funny thing is now some fans wanna retrospectively claim we should have sold them all.)

Despite the above, there is a food-chain sadly..... More successful clubs than ourselves are also still prone to it.

As for Dembele.... His replacement cost 60m and even has a name that sounds just like him.
