And, as Levy once pointed out and he's right, it's just a fact that a load of transfer business gets done near the end of the window - regardless of which team.
Levy has made that a self-fulfilling prophesy in the past, and well run clubs are prepared to do essential business immediately, but it’s true that clubs should be prepared to be opportunistic in the end-of-window scramble.

Injury free and LoCelso should be ahead of Winks in any game.

LoCelso was outstanding in the Copa, their manager and Messi post match said that he was their player of the tournament, and how many games did Winks get at the Euro's?
Injury free - that's the big unknown

Joined Spurs late after last Copa America, just got fit to make 2 short cameos, went to play for Argentina again and got crocked. When fit again, Poch had gone. Played about a dozen games under Mourhino - and looked good in the assist to the assister role before first covid break, and had disappeared for the last 6 or 7 games of that season. 2nd season under Mourhino and then Mason - virtually all the time not fit enough for 90 minutes and rarely looked to play out of first or 2nd gear.

So a dozen good games in 2 seasons for Spurs - will he transfer his lack of injuries and good form under Argentina to Spurs this season ? If so great, but its a risk.

Not that much business done throughout europe so far - probably a combination of nobody has any money and players clubs want to move on are on higher wages than buying clubs have a budget for.

Quite likely to be a busy last week or two as all clubs scramble to make the best of who is available and who they can finally sell.

Tottenham are set to step up their attempts to sign Sporting Lisbon's Joao Palhinha, with manager Nuno Espirito Santo a long-term admirer of the 26-year-old Portugal midfielder. (A Bola - in Portuguese
we are becoming the English Benfica. I think the nunos needs to broaden his outlook OR we we becoming Mendes FC?
Don't much like either scenario.

Pau Torres is an interesting one.

New name to the list. Think United were sniffing around pre the Varane signing.

24 Y/O. Tall 6'4 not the quickest but a good reader of the game.

Good passer, cultured left foot. Physical enough from the bits I've seen of him, good in the air.

Yeah, okay. I'm in.

Obligatory YouTube compilation

Anyone have any idea of the legitimacy of this source?

I think Torres has the potential to be an absolute Don at the back. He’d be a class signing.

She's an Argentiian sports journalist, doubt if she has any specific sources but no reason to doubt she's picked up a story.

Pau Torres also linked to Real Madrid to replace ManU bound Varane, so looks likely Torres is going somewhere.

Interesting.
Pau Torres. Left-footed. Very good on the ball and young but not so young.

Not sure he'd be suited to the physicality of this league though
