Is it bollocks. It's on Man City to pipe up an offer that Levy is willing to consider. If I were Kane I'd be questioning why Man City aren't being serious about it.
I have said this consistently, we have no reason to sell our best player, the league's best player, everyone at the club wants him to stay & if City offered crazy money as in close to 200mil then I could see him going

So...we still need at a minimum one CB, one ST, and a RB whilst also getting rid of some, if not all, of Dier, Sanchez, Davies, Aurier, Doherty, Sissoko, and Winks. If we sell Kane then we need two strikers; if we sell both Winks and Sissoko we need another CM. Ideally we would also bring in a RW. Why are we leaving things so late again?
Tomiyuso will be RB, Torres CB. Those are two we should be able to get done quickly but that's not how Levy works so it will drag out to the end.
Nobody can afford either the transfer fees or match the wages of the players on offer. Most clubs are facing the same problem trying to trim their squads and that in turn is having an effect on the incomings across the PL.
As much as Levy grinds my gears, I don't think it's fair to blame him when a transfer is slow/doesn't come off, but then praise Patrici when we do sign someone.
I think Patrici is the one negotiating and settling personal terms now.
They don't tend to have Spurs shirts in the Nike shop at Bluewater, Orpington or Lakeside though.

I agree with you. I'm actually not a Levy hater. I just know we operate slow.
In fairness i dont think many clubs are where they want to be in terms of transfers. Euros delayed a lot and later finish to season. Think a lot of clubs are scrambling now

im resigned now that this may indeed be a long season. getting close to the back end of august where prices will be raised for players.
While I wont disagree with that per se, the fee is actually REALLY important.
It needs to be prohibitive, it needs to be painful, so it will prohibit clubs from thinking they can easily poach our talent.

Whoever we get isn't guaranteed goals, we sell Kane we weaken our team significantly, £120mil doesn't replace what he does for us
And what did that achieve? United got Berbatov and we got Fraser fucking Campbell.
Whooptiedoo, we squeezed United for a few million extra and ended up with no Berbatov, no Keane, and Fraser fucking Campbell.
It's about accepting that Kane is going and about mitigating that loss for the good of the team, not for a headline number.
I'd rather take £10m less now and go and sign (say) Vlahovic and Martinez with that money before the window shuts, than hold out out a fee that makes you happy and we end up with some prat from Portugal on loan with an option to buy. Then next summer, when said prat is sent home with 4 goals to his name and the football economy has recovered, we can't afford any quality strikers because the foreign clubs are all back at the table.
I'd rather keep Kane than buy those 2 players who have never played in the Prem, one of which has only had half a good season in professional football
