Never understand why people judge a window before it's finished.

Obviously preferable to get business done early, and it's a shame (as usual) we've not done it this year - but otherwise what is there to say?

Problem is, we have heard this so many times "wait until the end of the window" and the end of the window comes and goes and we are still desperately in need of balance throughout the squad.

It's a repeating pattern, happy to be proven wrong if we do address the remaining issues.

That's fair.

I do think with Paratici in charge of transfers that our recruitment will be better than previously.

How much better remains to be seen.

Nuno will get the sack soon looking at the pattern

Inter target Nahitan Nandez is refusing to train with his Cagliari team and will not be involved in any upcoming games as he looks to force his move to Inter before the window closes, according to a report in the Italian media today.

As has been reported today by FcINternews, the Uruguayan is furious at how long it is taking the two clubs to finally agree on the terms of his transfer.

The midfielder agreed on personal terms with Inter many weeks ago and in his mind, he is an Inter player. The disagreement between the clubs is over the fee for the one-year loan. Inter want to pay €3 million, but Cagliari wants to receive €5 million.

Nahitan Nandez claims that Cagliari president, Tommaso Giulini, promised him that if a bid from a club of Inter’s size came in, the club would not stand in his way.

I basically have this attitude but given we just have 2 weeks now to sign:
- Another CB (Good:Torres or Meh: Milenkovic
- RB ( Tomiyasu)
- Vlahovic
- Martinez (If Kane goes - is this dead now?)

Extras would be another CM and forward.

Is it possible to sign the 4-6 players required in 2 weeks? Yes.

Is it likely? No.

And we still haven't sorted the Kane saga. It's getting a bit tight.

That's because you live in the past Joan - if you can't get over a bad transfer window three years ago - then maybe you need therapy?

Just accept it was a feck up - then be glad we've now had three very positive transfer windows since - positive thinking might get rid of those nasty shivers.

Or you can just keep posting anti club rant after rant - whatever you prefer.
Very positive windows ????

When did we last sign a player that has been a resounding success ?

Its a tough one. Transfer windows are a funny thing, and lets be honest - no squad is ever "done", is it?

Last summer looked like an almost surgical approach to sorting a squad out that needed a lot of work, and Im pretty sure come the end of August everyone was very pleased with what business we had done.

Then of course we had a thoroughly shite season off the back of it.

Irony being though, that business may well come good this year - sometimes it just takes time, doesnt it?

Looks to me like Paratici knows what he is doing, or at least is working on getting things done.

So far we have cleared a lot off the wage bill, boring stuff I know, but key in the scheme of things.

Brought in a successor to Lloris, and a top class CB, and a highly talented winger - all looking like good business to me.

The Kane situation is clearly a game changer, whether he stays/goes changes the business we can (and need to) do, so its one of those where we need to resolve one way or the other.

Im not claiming everything is rosey, rather I just dont understand why people slag a window that is yet to run its course - could all come together next week into something special (or not!)

hows it been solid we are effectively the same thereabouts as last season, winks sissoko doherty etc are all still here, we havent signed an efficient striker to cover kane leaving, and we are going into our first match with generally the same team as last year.
Winks and Sissoko wouldn’t get into our best team right now with PEH, GLC and Skipp ahead of them. I’m happy for both to go but we do need another CM. I’m worried how much game time Skipp will get in that environment.

Tanganga ahead of Aurier and Doherty at RB but ideally we bring in new. Tanganga deserves a chance in the team and the chance to develop.

CB ideally need 1 more (Tomi who can also cover RB?) And happy to sell Dier or Sanchez but not both. On paper Dier and Sanchez should be a good combo, a tall authoritarian combined with a fast mobile guy. Unfortunately both are not up to scratch.

It is, and I doubt any window will ever be a resounding 100% success.

Prior windows, for example, real fell down on not selling players as much as buying.

I think Paratici deserves a chance though, and everything we're told about him suggests he could well have multiple deals in the pipeline pending one domino to fall...

Are you claiming last summer window wasn't positive?

We brought in a RB now we need 2 RBs,
We brought in a CB now we need 2 CBs.
We brought in a back-up striker now we need a back-up striker.
We brought in a back-up keeper and had to buy another back-up keeper this summer
We brought in a RW and now have zero RWs and desperately need at least one more

Overall a great success that addressed all our needs and set us up for long term success!

Domino ofcourse here is Kane.
Kane goes - the kind of players we need & afford is different to what we can afford when he stays.
Sooner deadline given to City to close the deal, the better
