Bit of context to what I say next; I thought Dembele was the best player we had since Gazza. Certainly IMO he was the magic ingredient to Poch's team. It fell apart when the player started to fall apart.

I think Traore has the most similar playing style to any player I've seen since Moose. Get him, forget any 18 year old mercenaries and mould him into a midfield nightmare.

He hasn't got the brains or ball control to play in the middle.

Dembele was grace, understated power and ball control...... Traore is a steamroller for open roads (wings).

I genuinely think traore could be a world beater for us as an attacking rb. It wouldn't eat up any output assists/goals wise from the attacking players, he would still be able to take on and occupy 2/3 of opposition players and no one would be able to outrun him on the wing

I don't se how he's meant to do his thing against teams that 'sit in' (which is 2/3s of the teams we face.).

He's arguably the best dribbler in the EPL - that's exactly what you need against a team that sits in - if you can beat the first man that forces the team sitting in to break formation and send another defender to cover ... this we know he can do. Just watch him in the Utd game he was pulling their defence all over the place. Where he clearly has struggled is end product, is that because he can't finish? Yes, but is it also because the players he supplies can't finish either? that's also a Yes.

He created a chance in the first 15 minutes against Utd that 7/10 Kane or Son would have buried, just maybe that's what Traore needs, to play with better players.

Playing United (or us) is hardly a good example of him vs a team that 'sits in'......

Burnley, Palace and their ilk is what I'm talking about. When he has no space to run and dribble into and you're reliant on skill, creative passing and link up to break lines, not brute force.

Jimenez, Joto, Neto, Nevez, Moutinho aren't joke players........ I don't get the way people are acting like he's a new guy on the block with little to judge him on.... He's been in that Wolves team for years now.

It's all about opinions - will he add something we don't currently have? if you think he will he'd be a good signing, of you think he won't then he'd be a bad signing. Until that happens it's all guesswork.

Jimenez (4), Neto (5), Nevez (5), Moutinho(1) scored less EPL goals combined than Kane and Son scored on their own - Joto was long gone.

If you don't see our strikers as a massive step up in quality I'm very surprised.

Why limit it to last season? .....Just to emit Jota.

You're gonna rate Jiminez purely based on last year's goal tally?

.......That's just straight-up shit-housery.

Why be 'scared' of a broader sample-set?

Well considering Kane & Son scored most of our goals last year; the sensationalism of that claim is rendered somewhat moot.

Those Wolves players aren't scrubs... That's as much as my point needs for it to stand.

Let's look at a player when he was two years younger and 50 games less experienced, because that's what matters when looking at signing a player today, is that how you think it's done?

So Halland, Sancho, Buendina all have far worse stats from two years ago, so are you saying they are not worth signing?

Sometimes I wonder at the sanity of some posters ... just how ridiculous can you make yourself look?

Perhaps you didn't now this, but the season before last was actually a far better season for Traore than last year (where he far less productive and Wolves had all sorts of shit going on)..... Now who looks stupid???

Besides, nowhere in my post did I say to ignore last season anyway; you obnoxious idiot.

p.s. All of those players you listed, have impressed for a number of seasons now, so that's even more bollocks on you part.

I fucking hope not.

Careful…

So you pick the best season and ignore the last season .... makes perfect sense .... if you're an idiot.

Thank goodness our transfer team has more brain cells than you ... although for anyone to have less would seem highly unlikely based on your last few posts.

Cameron Carter-Vickers will stay until the January transfer window - he's injured

Tanguy NDombelly will go - either a swap deal like Lamela, or on loan. Nobody will buy him because apart from three or four clubs, the rest of football is still recovering from a global pandemic (oh yeah, now I remember)

Serge Aurier will go - this may well be another deal a la Nom-nom-nom. Replacing a player with the same type of player (hopefully better) under the circumstances is the best we can hope for

Any more business would be a bonus, but that doesn't mean to say that nothing will happen

The window is closing soon and we haven’t replaced Sissoko yet , I fucking hate this club and Levy right about now….god aaaaghhhh!!!

Everyone’s talking about Kane Kane fucking Harry Kane, but not even rumours of replacing Sissoko yet….clubs a joke!!!
:sonpoint:

Not sure if you noticed, but there is this young blonde lad that looks like Mark E Smith running around midfield at the moment.

Also, keep seeing this Rastafarian dreadlocked fellow popping up all over the pitch.

That's 2 midfielders we didn't have last season. Add to that GLC is (for the time being) fit; and Winks is desperate to impress, I'd say we can reassess our need come January if the right opportunity doesn't present itself over the next couple of days,
It was a Sissoko joke…..

The rest of this window relies on if we can ship Aurier & Ndombele imo. I think we will definitely make one signing and that will be an attacking player, I’m hoping it’s Adama because I feel his directness is what this squad currently lacks in attack. His dribbling and movement shifts defence around and that’ll open space for Kane and Son who if given half a yard normally find the net, Adama here would elevate his game imo.

I think in regards to Ndombele, we will have to do a loan swap of some sort to get him out and potentially even subsidise his wages too. I’m hoping we get a McKennie swap with Juve but I won’t be holding my breath, id say Aouer is more likely as Ndombele can go back to Lyon where he’s comfortable also.

I think Aurier is more likely to stay and run his contract down unfortunately, there seems to be no suitors whatsoever for him currently. At least with Serge I think he can still play a role here and is definitely still our best right back at this moment in time. I’d prefer to develop Tanganga more if he stays though, Aurier can play in games like we had last night where Watford sat 9 players behind the ball all game. He can be useful in those games.

Going to be a very interesting couple of days, looking forward to it being over and done with.
