So any player who has a few bad games is total crap - got it.

He has been very inconsistent throughout his Spurs period.
Our defense in past two seasons leaked 47 and 45 goals in past two seasons, both of which he has heavily featured.

But hey, this is just few bad games.
Opposed to this massive and consistent series of 3 games this season.
3 games is surely more telling than 2 seasons. Cause 3 is bigger than 2.

Got it indeed!

Aurier, Ndombele and Sissoko out in the same window would be huge. La Mafia can fuck off and be replaced by serious footballers who are hungry to improve (not just hungry for the latest Subway special in Ndombelly's case)

Bit unfair to Sissoko considering he did improve playing for us, he's just not of the standard required, which isn't his fault, but that of our scouting department.

I'm not sure about Oliver Skipp. He seems too slow in the #6 position.
Ruben Neves would be gold, but it's probably not gonna happen.
I share your concerns about Skipp's athleticism, but I also feel this is an area of weakness for Neves.

I said a few months ago that I can't stand Jorginho, and there he goes with CL and European Championship medals in his back pocket.

Neves ought to improve us, but the overall package doesn't make my balls tingle.

I'd actually prefer Renato Sanches. He plays angry. And I like that.

Heck, if we have 35-40-45 mEUR to invest, then why not invest the money to player who actually can set things up - like Neves from Wolves... rather than someone who fucks things up - like Traore from Wolves?!?

Literally when Dier had massive brainfart in midfield area, Neves reacted quickly and put in very measured and accurate pass, sending Traore 1 vs 1 with Lloris. And Traore absolutely screwed it up.

No question at all who I'd prefer out of the two...

They seem to get in Renato Sanchez who could pick up his role, so it seems kind of more likely to me now.

Royal in ; Aurier+Doherty out
Neves in ; Ndombele out

- these deals in DLD would help to sort out our midfield and RB positions.

Skipp is a super busy, tenacious fucker. Probably the best tackler at the club. Don't think you need worry about him physically.

Him and PEH can do the running for Neves.

Tbh it's hard to judge the defenders under Mourinho-ball and with Sissoko/Ndombelly/Winks for 'protection'.

I know it's early days but the addition of Skipp to complement PEH has really transformed how solid we are. Dele's running has helped with this too.

I wouldn't be prioritising a CB for now. The time to upgrade at LCB is next summer but for this season Romero plus one other behind a very solid midfield is sufficient.

It is way tooooo simplistic to blame other aspects.
Specially if mistakes are made player against player defending. Again, like the infamous Sanchez vs Gundogan situation. However much you stretch it, you can't blame manager.
You can't blame manager if defender goes to head clear the cross and just misses the ball...

Sure, now we look more solid, but I pointed it out - it comes at significant cost - if we play 3 CDMs whos main aim is to keep our fragile defense not being troubled, it will make it lot harder to unlock defenses, specially if opposite team parks the bus.

Playing 3 CDMs just masks the defensive issues but does not solve them.

Of course I hope that Romero becomes commanding CB and someone (Sanchez, Rodon, Dier) becomes reliable partner for him in CB positions. But up to now Dier and Sanchez with all their errors have made me sceptic about this happening.

Let's face it - after last season everyone agreed that defense and more specifically CB area is very big issue for us. And in summer we moved Alderweireld out, Romero in. This is just upgrade on one player there. I feel that current run of 3 clean sheets makes people over confident about our CB levels.
