Skipp is a super busy, tenacious fucker. Probably the best tackler at the club. Don't think you need worry about him physically.

Him and PEH can do the running for Neves.

He worries me near our box. I'm sure he took Grealish out in the first few minutes a couple of feet from the box, did exactly the same against Watford on Sunday AND had an incident inside the box Vs Wolves that could have gone either way.

I see the links to Neves
- No one reliable saying it
- Similar to Hojbjerg

We have other priorities guys. In particular an attacking player.

Attacking players will seem lot better if there is someone in midfield who can find them at the right time in the right place which gives them more room.

Ball travels faster then player can run, and I would feel more comfortable having Neves there.
Based on this season so far, it would be like

Neves------Hjojberg
--------Skipp----------

CM trio. Which I would dig, I have to admit.

Assuming Emerson is done I’d like to see bissouma or neves in midfield and with the hammers signing vlasnic a cheeky bid for lingard to complete a pretty good tw

It is way tooooo simplistic to blame other aspects.
Specially if mistakes are made player against player defending. Again, like the infamous Sanchez vs Gundogan situation. However much you stretch it, you can't blame manager.
You can't blame manager if defender goes to head clear the cross and just misses the ball...

Sure, now we look more solid, but I pointed it out - it comes at significant cost - if we play 3 CDMs whos main aim is to keep our fragile defense not being troubled, it will make it lot harder to unlock defenses, specially if opposite team parks the bus.

Playing 3 CDMs just masks the defensive issues but does not solve them.

Of course I hope that Romero becomes commanding CB and someone (Sanchez, Rodon, Dier) becomes reliable partner for him in CB positions. But up to now Dier and Sanchez with all their errors have made me sceptic about this happening.

Let's face it - after last season everyone agreed that defense and more specifically CB area is very big issue for us. And in summer we moved Alderweireld out, Romero in. This is just upgrade on one player there. I feel that current run of 3 clean sheets makes people over confident about our CB levels.

It’s not just about the personnel though, it’s about the way we play. Reguilon, Davinson and Dier were all atrocious defensively last season but they look much more stable now because the team overall has a better balance and a more defined structure.

I’m also cautious about Dier and Davinson’s form but if they are showing such positive signs is it worth spending on another CB when we have Romero and Rodon already, plus more pressing needs elsewhere? I think it would take quite a lot of money to find someone who is better than Davinson has been in the first 3 games.

I think you meant stupid enough.

Takes a real moron to make 25 y and 7 month player without any output and ability to create chances our 3rd most expensive signing ever...

Why is that stupid? The guys a monster and would instantly improve our attack. Would create tonnes of space for the team. Would be hugely exciting down our right hand side with Emerson Royal. Why are you so worried about the cost ? Is it your money? Like I said, if Spurs had any ambition and wanted to back Nuno, we would go all out for Traore today

Bold part says it all.

I tend to trust proof from rather full seasons than run of 3 games with defensive tactics where we tried our utmost not to give our defense any real work...

Once more - still hopes he turns good and stable. Specially next to strong and commanding player like Romero (hopefully) is. But I would not bet on that.
