Ex-Spurs Player Tanguy Ndombele

Latest Spurs videos from Sky Sports

Difference between Berbatov and Ndombele is that Berbatov produced, he scored a lot of goals.

Ndombele has put in maybe 10 performances worthy of his price tag and talent since he arrived 2 years ago.

Football fans will put up mardy players as long as they produce
Midfield is a little bit different from a measuring stick perspective. You could argue that Modric didn't produce due to his limited statistical productivity, but we all know how important Modric was to that Spurs Midfield. Either way, Ndombele is talented and I still think the opportunity remains to get some of that out of him even w/ his limitations from a work-rate perspective.

Agree - same with Michael Carrick. Stats are for American Sports…. They offer certain insights for football but secondary to understanding football and the ability to quickly spot a good player (stats or no stats)

Much agreed. Plus you have those bitters who think players need to be robots out there and play a certain way to be accepted which is nonsense for me. Every footballer is different and managed accordingly.

They don’t need to be robots but they need to put in a reasonable effort
Ndombelly just doesn’t
For me, he's def put in some reasonable shifts and quality performances. Its just not anywhere near consistent and he tends to switch off too much at times. And I'm not even arguing that he should be a regular in the s11, but utilized in those match-ups where spurs tend to dominate possession and the team is in need of some creativity. Vs giving up on him which may prefer.

We have a solid, functional group of players - this is the base for a creative player to shine….. IMO

We won’t sign a more a talented player than Ndombele so let’s give him another chance. I have faith, I could be wrong but hey

Just need to convince those die-hard Cricket fans who think Ndombele needs to be programmed a certain way to wear the spurs badge (regardless of talent).

I think it said it all in pre season training where, in a clip, we saw Dier give him a bit of a whack
Nothing serious and he wasn’t hurt but just lay down and didn’t look interested in rejoining the session

And that’s just typical of him

I don’t know how you can say that we won’t be signing a more talented player
