I don't think it was as close as people think, for me there is no coincidence with the fact that the Conte talk was right up until ST renewal and then it transpired we weren't getting him. I don't think he was ever going to come to a club with such a lack of ambition where he couldn't decide on the players he wanted.

Was always a smokescreen as far as I'm concerned.

It is possible although if anyone renewed their season tickets based on Conte rumours than they are idiots.

There's plenty of idiots out there mate. Those still steadfastly supporting Levy are testament to that.
I think there would have undoubtedly been a few waverers who became excited by the Poch and Conte links and decided to take the plunge. Especially when Conte was seemingly nailed on at something like 1/20 accross most bookies.

My concern is that ENIC is making so much money outside of the club in real estate and putting on events, that they no longer need to worry about the decline of the football team. They already seem to have solidified their spot in the ESL and that is really where the big money is for them.

I think they would like to finish top 4 and get that CL money in but they have shown they are not willing to make the decisions to do that like other clubs do.
I sometimes wonder why they hang on when they have no real interest.

Ideal scenario

- Nuno is sacked at halftime at Villa - 0:3 down, Agbonlahor with all 4

- Gary Megson care taker

- Kane sold in Jan to City for 250m Zim Dollars

- We bring Keane and Defoe back aw stop gap

- Don Levy becomes assistant manager and Gary Megson promoted to Chairman. Berbatov DoF.

- Mason and Winks offered new 6 year deals

I reckon Rogers is looking more achievable. Leicester fans booing him at the weekend.

There is a movement among Leicester fans to get him out.

Whilst I'm no longer against Potter, we're so bad it would definitely be an improvement, they're being utterly destroyed by Palace here.

They haven't even had 1 xG yet.
