Ex-Spurs Player Harry Kane

Latest Spurs videos from Sky Sports

No Son was significantly better than Kane despite having a non existent attacking partner up front. He at least threatened their defense a few times. Kane was non existent.

We might as well have been playing with 10 men. Had Son and Lucas been playing together, we would have been much better.

So you have a crystal ball now? Maybe you should have used it before you picked your username, as you would have seen that Ndombele would have turned out to be a big bag of wank.

Kane takes 137 shots to score 23 goals.
Someone else may create 40 TEAM goals by passing some of the 114 chances Kane misses a season instead of just trying to break personal records

Imagine that
Don’t bother mate. People don’t understand the concept of opportunity cost whenever Kane misses a shot. They won’t bother looking into what it took for Kane to get his goals so shot conversion rate and goals above xG doesn’t matter to them.

Why is it collective when Kane is shit, but when Son is shit you’re happy to say it

No. I'm more than happy to say when both are shit. But Son gets a free pass here for lots of people when he puts in poor performances. His record against the bigger and better teams isn't as good as it is against lesser sides. The same as just about every other player, which is the original point I've been making.

But you can also make a strong case for a team winning together and losing together, regardless of the opposition.

"A no brainer"........ Why? .....Cos it'd be a fuckin' bargain; that's why!

I don't quite understand why people are viewing this as if 2 1/2 years left on his contract is not a significant amount of time and that we should just get whatever we can for him.

If signing Kane means winning the league and/or CL; for them he is worth every last penny and MORE.

This is way different to people looking at Zaha's asking price and thinking "Fuck that! .....Wingers are 2-a-penny.....".
Why wouldn’t they just sign Jiminez at 1/4 the price? He’d get 25 goals for City. There are at least a half dozen strikers in the PL that would score close to 30 goals on City

You think Wolves are gonna sell their only decent CF who they just got back from injury after struggling badly without him .. for 18m?

And also, Jimenez isn't nearly as good as Kane. We know it and City know it.

He's only just scored his first goal since an horrific head injury and still may never be the same player again (I cringe whenever the ball comes near him at head height.... Psychologically he must still have a mountain to climb).

We had all this crap about him over the summer (with the aforementioned poster saying we should replace Kane with him)...... This is a peak example of people ignoring the obvious to further double down on their chosen narrative.

He’d get them 25-30 goals though.

Scored 17 PL goals pre injury on a shit Nuno managed squad.

Fair point on Wolves not selling him though.

Nuno was decent as Wolves manager, he suited them and played to their strengths. That season they finished with the same points tally as we did.

And I like Jimenez a lot, but there's no guarantee of that. He had one season with 13 league goals and another with 17. Kane has consistently shown if he can stay fit in a season he's easily capable of 20+ each season, bad team behind him or not. When he did have a decent side behind him he bagged 30 in the league.

Kane is also better than guys like Ings, Wilson, DCL etc .. strikers capable of bagging 15+ in a good season but that's their ceiling. City know Kane's ceiling is higher and that's why they wanted him, the other guys are no better than a Jesus.

They wanted him less than they wanted Grealish which says something about how they view/rate him

I'm amazed he's still playing. He's not the same player which is plain to see and understandably so.

Yesterday, I watched Jimmy Greaves on some podcast, and he said that a top striker has to have bottle (or something else beginning with a 'b') to miss chances, ie that he would go for 50:50 balls and he would be able to shrug off criticism from the crowd watching - he admitted he missed loads.
I'm not 'off' Kane because he has a shot and misses, it's more the perceived lack of effort on his part - I want players to run through brick walls for the team, and we just don't have them any more.
I can understand his disappointment in not getting the move he wanted, but it's time to get over his sulk now, and buckle down and start performing for the team who he is playing for.
