Management Are the morals of our owners important to you?

Latest Spurs videos from Sky Sports

To the question yes but it is very much an empty gesture and vacuous.

And in truth what are morals and when do they get past the point of being unacceptable?

The PL is just a play thing now for the super rich and we are but interested observers.

Eventually the notion of fans will derive a different meaning.

Abramovich is a no.

Basically I stop at anyone there is a very high reason to suspect involvement in significant, and violent or otherwise beyond the pale, criminal conduct. Or someone whose business practices are eroding western civilization.

I'd take Kroenke, FWIW. Or FSG. Or the Glazers. Or that bloke that owns Leicester. Hell, I'd take Perez if Madrid ever bounced him and he was looking for a team with a white shirt so he'd feel at home - he'd bankrupt us, but it'd be sensational at least. I'd probably even take the Dildo Bros without a lot of rage, though they'd ruin us I'm sure.

Spent a lot of my life with common crooks and hoods, TBH. I'm comfortable with that variety, morally. The Qataris, Saudis, Abu Dhabi, Abramovich, etc. are cut from a different cloth if you ask me. These are evil people, not bad, evil.
Point of order re Florentino Pérez, he doesn't own Real Madrid, he's the chairman, elected by the club's members who are the "owners", as is the case at Barcelona, Athletic Club and Osasuna.

He hasn't "bankrupted" Madrid either, far from it. Their finances are pretty healthy, notwithstanding the financial hit resulting from Covid.

Justify what? that our major shareholder lives in a low tax country? Is that now the same as condoning rape and murder.

You say it's not the same, so just what false equivalency are you making here? Joe may not be much of a philanthropist but that's not a crime, what's with all the hate?

I think you have either not read the 50 previous posts I have made on the subject or misunderstood my post.

I am saying some posters here are supporting the NUFC takeover because 'ENIC are just as bad'.

I have been disagreeing with that.

I'm not supporting the Saudi take over though...it's a microcosm of whats going on in the world these days, the mega rich can basically do whatever the fuck they like and the rest of us have to take it and like it...

I mean, there's "a bit shady", and "dodges taxes" (which as a hard working tax payer trying to pay off a London sized mortgage really annoys me) and then there's executing journalists and homosexuals but there are some people here arguing that it's all the same.

Of course, I can't help but be a little jealous that Newcastle are probably on the verge of domestic dominance and I freely admit as a Spurs fan I'd at least be a little excited about a new era of actually winning things if it were us. But that doesn't mean I can't feel a little about entire countries buying Premier League clubs as a PR exercise so we all laugh off the executions and persecutions. No. Just, no.

Fuck City, Fuck Chelsea and now Fuck Newcastle.

But genuinely, why not "fuck football" as a whole? Nobody thinks Lewis and the Saudis are the same, the Saudis are clearly worse. But the "our billionaire is better than your billionaire thing" rings a bit hollow.

It's easy for us to be disgusted by the owners of other clubs, but if one of these types buys Spurs, will you stop following the club? I don't just mean going to games, but watching a stream, posting on a forum etc. That's the real test of where we all stand on this issue.

Speaking for myself, I'd still follow Spurs and I'd still cheer the players. In the end, if these scummy owners got to me that much, I'd have stopped following football already. Maybe I care less than I did, but that's about it.

None of these cunts should have been allowed to get involved with football, but the horse has bolted. We are having a winter World Cup ffs, because it's going to be hosted in that part of the world to show us all who owns the game.

I will have absolutely no problem with it. It will kill Spurs' values and legacy in an instant. That club will not be Spurs anymore, other than by name.

The older school Newcastle fans will get bored in a few years. Lot of my mates were Chelsea and they loved the first 2 or 3 years but it just becomes meaningless. Most knocked it on the head or go to non league now. Of course you always get 1 or 2 gobshites that cling on and act like they've earnt all the success the hard way. The Newcastle fans that arent the new breed will still pine for the Keegan years even as they lift league titles because deep down they'll know its all hollow.
Yeah same kind of scenario few mates of mates Rangers fans and when they started under Souness they’d not had success for years finally won the league then the cups & leagues started with 9in a row Souness away by now but it was boring teams rocking up at Ibrox ten men behind the ball and just a grind.
