I have never seen us that bad under Poch unless you are talking about getting thrashed by Bayern. The problem I have is since Dembele left Jan 2019 I have not seen a real purpose in the way we play their seems no attacking system set up it is to rely on moments of brilliance. We needed a coach with some vision/philosophy who knew how to set up a team and who was a great man manager on top of that but we got Nuno who has no system at the moment and we have rejected how he prefers to play. There are massiv holes in our squad but Nuno is making them bigger by his complete inability to manage.
Brighton away was close as was Colchester

How long was it we didn't win when looking particularly stale away from home under the wonder coach Poch?
So are you talking about when we lost Kane for half a season and our only two midfielders were Sissoko and Winks because Dier kept getting injured/sick, Wanyama spent a few seasons sidelined with a knee injury and we had not signed anyone for two transfer windows while selling Dembele. That 2018 summer is when we needed to refresh our midfield Levy did not. The fact is you are talking about a time when Poch was betrayed by Levy then he struggled to recover after the champions league final and we finally signed two midfielders but Ndombele and Los Celso got injuries so we’re never integrated properly into Poch’s line up. The on top of all this Poch refused to sign off being in the Amazon Documentary. The fact is Poch knew how he wanted to play Nuno and Jose had no clue they just set a formation and expect the players to work out the rest.

Amazing how many excuses there are for losing 5-1 to a ten man team that was relegated, and losing to 4th division oppo, and getting 7 past us at home, but lose your 4th game (after winning your first three) and it’s the worst thing in 30 years.

Sorry, what level of side did we have out on Thursday? Seem to recollect Harry not playing in that game either...

Laughable how many have forgotten the diamond and AVB and 1992 onwards.

Crediting nuno with our worst ever PL performance is the sign of someone who hasn’t seen much

Or it's a sign of a different opinion. There's no need to patronise with this shit, I remember AVB well and I still don't think any of our performances under him were worse than what we served up against Palace.

Calling it 'laughable' to suggest Palace is minimum up there with our worst performances since Redknapp is ridiculous. 2 shots, 1 on target, 33% of the ball and a 3-0 loss vs a bottom half side whose only win of the season so far is against us.

It was awful. As bad as any of the games you can mention or worse. Nobody has 'forgotten' any of the past terrible performances, but personally I think you're playing down just how shite we were in order to try to defend Nuno.

You think the games vs Newcastle, Colchester, Brighton etc were worse? Fine, but stop pretending this game doesn't compare to those matches, because it objectively does. It doesn't mean Nuno out or that it's a disaster, but as an isolated performance it was a fucking disgrace on every level.

Why would the conditions that pushed for the hiring of Nuno be different and optimal for a manager to be attracted to our project ?
It's not about writing a letter to Santa and wishing for the best manager available, we've seen the process.
In the adult world, you are compromising and giving a minimum of 18 months for a head coach to prove himself rather than risking the quality of coaches to decrease. Because you hire one every 6 months.
You give Mourinho 17 months to maintain Champions League standards but not the opportunity to win a cup final, what type of manager will risk his career here ?

Come on, it's not that difficult to visualize.

It compares in shitness but that’s not what you said.

I disagreed with it being the unequivocal worst performance of our PL existence.

If you want to revoke that and change to “it was comparable to…..” then I’ll agree

My opinion is that it is the worst. Unequivocal? No. But what I think I said was that I believe it was the worst .. I'm happy for others to think it isn't, but that game was genuinely the least I think we've offered in a match since Redknapp took over.

Games like Newcastle were bad for different reasons, but we created chances and scored a goal. What stands out for me against Palace was how toothless we were. I'd prefer getting absolutely battered but creating chances to losing 2 or 3 nil but barely entering the opposition half.

That's down to preference, others will feel the hammering is worse.

I don't have an issue with you thinking otherwise, I have an issue with your patronising shite acting like I've forgotten games in the past just because my opinion is that this was worse. I also have an issue with the extent you go to rip in to Kane, but you're happy to drag out old terrible results to defend god awful performances under Nuno.

Reeks of agenda, didn't you say you backed Jose as well?

I've changed my mind on Nuno having watched or attended most of our PL games so far this season. Nice guy but major reservations whether he is the correct person to take as forward.

However some of the borderline (and beyond) abuse on here is quite embarrassing tbh. I actually feel a little sorry for him given he was the result of a botched and public managerial search and came in as about our 8th choice and had to deal with a lot of mess left behind - not an ideal start, putting it mildly.

I have an agenda against Kane because I think there are worse games than the palace one, ok

I’m defending Nuno because he’s new.

I thought Jose deserved one full season of his tenure. So yes I was against sacking him at that moment.

Try and stay on topic a bit, you’re going to great lengths to show you don’t care about my opinion
