Ex-Spurs Player Harry Kane

Latest Spurs videos from Sky Sports

I couldn't begin to say how staunch his stance is..... He seems like a pretty straight foward and forthright bloke though.

It's not like a top 4 job isn't gonna come with big wages and a decent TRF budget anyway....

When? Liverpool look set with Klopp for years, and even when he goes I'd wager at Gerrard replacing him over someone like Potter. Chelsea are also very happy with Tuchel, Guardiola is going nowhere and if he does City aren't replacing him with Potter. United? More likely, but still see a Conte/Zidane as their type of guys.

The top 4 jobs are closed off for the foreseeable. Maybe Potter would reject us if we offered what I said, but I'd bet money that if we actually offered him a promising position rather than the poisoned chalice we gave Nuno, he'd give it a go.

Anyhow, this is the Kane thread so probably not the place. But upon selling Kane we need to finally be heading in the right direction, or all we'll achieve is people will find another scapegoat..

Vlahovic would have no goals for us if we'd signed him. He relies on good service, you need to get crosses in to the box and play it in to his feet in the box, similar to Kane. He'd be more lively and look less mopey, but fans would already be getting on his back for not scoring.

Most of his goals are poachers goals. He works hard and his hold up play is solid, but he's not going to score solo worldies where he just runs at defenders.
See also Soldado.

Tell Potter we will give him 200m spending in his first summer net, and a reasonable amount of control over transfers. Bet he changes his mind. Also throw a huge wage at him in order to get him in to the club.

This is how big clubs operate and bring in managers who aren't sold. We need to prove to any incoming manager than we are going to fix the rot at the club and give them the freedom to do so. The way we operate now is how we end up with a manager like Nuno who nobody wants, so we don't have to give him any promises or pay him very much.
:sonpoint:
200m spend... good one!

Isak is out there too!
Isak just signed a new contract until 2026 and plays in a better side than Vlahovic. Vlahovic could be available in January for around 50m I think, but both are very good and I'd be happy with either as a Kane replacement. Just don't know who'll spend good money for Kane now, chance of selling to our benefit might have sailed.

Why would potter want to come?
Money. Folk like that. See the obscenity Jose was paid for the shi show he brought. Plus two years ago Potter was in the championship. Some folk talk about him like he is Conte. He isn't. He will dump the 30k seat Amex with its piddling revenue in a heartbeat.

Stop believing the tabloids the Spurs job is not some unwanted position. United, City, Chelsea, Liverpool. These are bigger jobs in England thats all. The impediments are very simple budget and a man crush. If we avoid Covid lock downs the revenue will be greater than its ever been. The issue in world football is everyone knows Levy is waiting for Pochettino. Give him cast iron written assurances of tenure and he would come

He did give everything... but now he doesn't care and is clearly on the Eriksen plan.

He really believed he had a gentleman's agreement he could go. He wouldn't have gone public otherwise.

Levy has form on this. The smart move would have been thanks Harry. Demand 140m from City. They would have paid. This isn't hindsight. I said it at the time.

Levy didn't give a price. So City moved on.

We get a player who doesn't want to play for us.
Kane was sold the idea of a new stadium. Big signings mixing it with the big boys.
He gets Nuno. A couple of, and lets be fair, 2 very average defenders signed at the last minute a straw of a man in Gil and the return of skipp.

I do not blame kane for wanting to leave a sinking ship.

Levy is to blame.

Nobody blames Kane for wanting to win trophies. Nobody. It was the manner in which it was done to generate a move. The interview. The preseason. "Agreement" or not, whatever it was between them wasn't "City can rape us over the fee".

If he wanted to leave that bad, where was:

A) the transfer request
B) the appropriate fee from a buyer

Neither happened.

City thought they could get him on the cheap, Kane thought he would get to keep his loyalty bonus, Charlie rides around his office on his motorcycle because he has nothing else to do and we all look like a bunch of cunts.

If he believed in a gentleman’s agreement in modern business, he’s a moron.
