Manager Antonio Conte

Latest Spurs videos from Sky Sports

If I was being cynical i'd say that hiring Conte is a clever way of placating a very fed up fan base. Either that or Levy still thinks this team is good enough to be challenging for honours and we just haven't found the right manager/ coaching team to realise their potential, which is clearly bollocks.

Relatively speaking managerial appointments are a lot less expensive than actually investing what is required to turn this lot around. I'd sooner get somebody that will provide a bit of entertainment until the end of the season then go for Potter/Parker.

Managers can have a dramatic affect. Eriksen, Dembele, Rose, Verts under Poch where completely different players to AVB and Sherwood, not even remotely the same.

Lampards Chelsea to Tuchels is night and day. It’s no coincidence that the top teams Liverpool, Chelsea and City all have elite coaches. They improve players, improve tactics get vastly more out of what they have.

I agree we need significant investment, probably 3-4 good players in Jan to fix things but you can’t fix anything with a dud coach. Salah and De Bruyne under Nuno we would still have been shit just shit with the odd worldie goal.

how oddly un-reassuring is this!

Nuno gone but is conte the answer? Seriously conte? After the summer statements, his tactics? Simply put I think it's all irrelevant as good or bad levy will fuck him over sooner or later and he'll be off..

Levy is a two bucket kind of chairmen. One bucket (A) is for shit and another bucket (B) for gold, when one of then fills up its time to move on - do you think any spurs manager has seen bucket B fill up yet?

Squads always need investment, but if you can't get a good manager it doesn't really matter. And Conte is world class.
