Really good analysis and one of the reasons I was tactically encouraged is that two of our better chances on Sunday fell to Reguilon and and Emerson.

While there’s rightly been a lot of discussion about getting more creativity from the midfield, I think it’s been under emphasized that in most of Conte’s teams the wingbacks are only behind the strikers in terms of goals and assists.

Generally more important in the final third than any of the midfielders. Though of course all of them contributing is the ideal.
Agree with this but when the midfielders aren’t getting the ball forward, neither the wing backs or strikers get any opportunities

Maybe the banning of ketchup and mayo is also just a little test of attitude of players, who's willing to make the little sacrifices and just get on with it.

Yes - started it last week when, whilst clearing out a cupboard, I found a packet of Hermeseta Stevias that I'd bought several years ago. Tried them in coffee - Yeeeuuuchh. Tried them in tea - mmmmm, not bad. As I consume way too much sugar anyway, I've stuck with them in the tea.

I am Modern Man.

:letmyselfout:
So you don’t like the flavour of tea on its own?

Enough material here for a conference!

We tried to hold 3 of our South American players back in the September international break. They ignored our instructions and went.
We don't know what happened. There's various dynamics as well, you have the players who are happy to miss out on meaningless games and those that want to play. If you have the latter it's harder to manage.

What I will say is - if a player is happy to play for their country in a meaningless game and effectively rule them self out of playing for the club then I'd be looking at getting rid of the player tbh.

Sorry for Zesting again, but as pharmacist I can give accurate info - Sugar isn't good, meanwhile all the artificial sweeteners are thoroughly tested and proven very safe. You can get diarrhea if you overdose them, that's what sometimes happens to chewing gum addicts, but no long term risks. If you're good at controlling your diet three cups of tea with sugar won't hurt you. But since it's so easy to replace and it's hard to control your diet overall, cutting all carbs with high glycemic index (like sugar or white bread) is highly recommended.
On the flip side though, as a human person, I think I am well placed to also add that they taste like absolute shite, and if you want to cut out sugar, you'd be better off simply removing the sugar and not replacing it...

How can you call the games that you need to play to qualify for the WC meaningless? Playing in the WC is meaningful, but playing to qualify for it is meaningless? Winning the WC is the pinnacle of any footballer's career, but to do that they need to qualify for it first. It's like saying a game in the 3rd and 4th qualifying round of the CL is a meaningless game.

:contefacepalm2:

Edit: don't get me wrong, I hate the international breaks too, but they're not meaningless. Going away to play a bunch of friendlies is meaningless.
