Agree with this but when the midfielders aren’t getting the ball forward, neither the wing backs or strikers get any opportunitiesReally good analysis and one of the reasons I was tactically encouraged is that two of our better chances on Sunday fell to Reguilon and and Emerson.
While there’s rightly been a lot of discussion about getting more creativity from the midfield, I think it’s been under emphasized that in most of Conte’s teams the wingbacks are only behind the strikers in terms of goals and assists.
Generally more important in the final third than any of the midfielders. Though of course all of them contributing is the ideal.
