Match OTHER MATCHES FRED - 2021/22

Latest Spurs videos from Sky Sports

Always surprised to see people bemoan international breaks. Serbia vs Portugal last night was as enjoyable a game as I've watched all year. Montenegro coming from two behind in the last few minutes to put Netherlands WC qualification in doubt. Jorginho missing a last minute penalty to put Italy under pressure vs N. Ireland tonight.

Big stakes, lots of emotion, what's not to like?

Come on Doc, I agree about this intentional break, it's had meaningful games with some ineteresting outcomes riding on them. But that's because it's the final round.

But most International breaks are unbearably tedious, with fuck all meaningful jeopardy going on. Added to that it just stretches players even thinner and this year it's been even crazier with more international breaks - more wear and tear, added to more risk of covid etc.

I dunno, I like travelling to watch the international team play, as crap as Ireland have been for several years now. South American qualifiers are generally fun, you get a look at academy players playing underage internationals. And if the fixtures are drab it's a good excuse to stop watching football for a few weeks and do something else with the time.

Can't believe what I'm seeing here. Steven Bergwijn already putting in a motm performance for the Dutch in an important game vs Norway, and capping it off with a great finish for what looks to be a late winning goal. I'm sure somebody will comp his touches later on, been excellent throughout.

Edit: then sets up a second, carries the ball more than half the length of the field to tee up Depay. What have we done to these players on the training pitch?
