He is not a RB though, he can fill in there and do a job because he is solid defensively but he doesn't have the attacking ability to play RB full time for a team with ambition.

As a RCB in a back 3 he is a perfect fit. I do have questions about how effective he would be in a back 4 for a top team. My hopes are that he can be a quality squad player, I don't think that is very high at all.

Again if we get a better player then sure sell him but right now we have shown zero ability to bring in better players and have many more worse players we should sell first.

HG is an issue we have to consider especially with so many of our other club trained players (Dele, Winks) being dogshit, Kane potentially still wanting out and zero options looking ready in our youth squad.

you say hes not a RB, i dont think hes a CB. he may want to be a CB but hes simply not good enough, proved that the other night. the reason his position is ambiguous is because hes not got any real qualities...hes basically a defender but one without an actual position because hes MEH.

hell be in the championship in a couple years along with winks and tom carroll, for some reason it takes these clubs a while to suss these players out.

His best position is RCB in a back 3 which is why it is possible for you to think he is a RB but me to like him better at CB.

You say he has no real qualities which is BS but I would counter by saying he has no real flaws. He can defend, is comfortable with the ball at his feet, has enough speed for a CB, can run with the ball past defenders. Biggest complaint would likely be his height but other small CBs have been able to be effective, especially if he is playing in a back 3.

I doubt he will be in the Championship any time soon, but even if he were that doesn't change the fact he is better than the crap we have right now.

I would sell Dier and Sanchez.

As for why not you wound have to ask the club that question. It would be far from the first time the club made a decision that made no sense.

I also haven't insisted that he was so good, just pointed out he is better than the crap we have.
