Transfers January 2022 - Transfer Window

Latest Spurs videos from Sky Sports

Not really transfer news, but... are the tax payers on the hook? Are we fucking subsidizing THFC? Isn't this taxation without representation?

Independence Day Usa GIF by CBS

I have said for a while now that when Lewis decides to start selling off stakes in the club it will likely be to a US based investor/investors.

Enter stage left, Mark Cuban!

This has to be the weirdest bit of transfer news yet.

So according to this Alemany chap, Spurs have a purchase option imbedded in Coutinho's loan to Villa.

How the hell did Villa agree to that?

10% and naming rights (to give Conte £400M or some vulgar amount), could live with the Berkshire Hathaway Arena, or something...
These are some of the names that unfortunately are taken:

Kuntz Memorial Soccer Stadium - Indianapolis, USA

Middelfart Stadion - Middlefart, Denmark

Bargain Booze Stadium - Northwich, England

Dick's Sporting Goods Park - Colorado, USA

Dick's Sporting Goods Park - Colorado, USA

Wankdorf Stadium - Berne, Switzerland

Dr. Y.S. Rajasekhara Reddy ACA-VDCA Cricket Stadium - India,

Maybe we showed interest, said if he gets fit and shows he can do it we're interested in the summer, he thinks having a shot with Spurs under Conte is worth including in his option with Villa?

Bit awkward but easy to think something like that may happen.
The weird bit is how did Villa agree to it?

Maybe they don't know if they have the money for him long term?

If they have the first option what the hell do they care?

It seems too weird to be true though, for one thing absolutely no way in hell is any clause involving Daniel Levy completed and announced on January 7.

This would be my 5 as well. Lucas and Davies aren’t anything special as footballers but they’ve given us everything they have to offer thus far.
What has stood out with Davies is firstly, he knows that position inside out and secondly, he’s far more confident as a result.

I forget which game it was, one of Conte’s first, but he knew exactly when to join the attack and press and when to cover. I also like him being on hand to help Reguillon, who has regular clueless episodes.

Obviously has his drawbacks, but he’s done well so far.

Just pointing out to Airfixx trying to put it on me to help create the false narrative he needs to create his BS argument.

My comment summarised:

- You said apologists come out of the woodwork after a bad result.
- Other dissenting voices say the opposite.

This really shouldn't be that difficult for your to comprehend.... Even with your obvious challenges.

Exactly

I can see Spurs saying sure because it is win-win, if he is crap they say no, if he is good but they want someone else they say no, if he is good and they want him they say yes no downside.

For Barca who just want him gone they could attach 100 teams to that clause and it works for them they don't care who gives them the money they just want the money.

But why wouldn't Villa say "no if there is an option we are the only ones to get it"? Makes no sense for them to agree to a deal like that, especially when Barca are the desperate ones to move him.

Where did I say apologists come out of the woodwork after a bad result?

I said that it is odd that apologists come out now that the fans are getting upset. Nowhere did I say that it is something that happens after each bad result.

I thought it meant some American money from investors.....a moment of panic overwhelmed me....🥵

It did, but I think/hope it is more an advertising vehicle for something not too vulgar and disruptive to the worlds chi! (fat hope)

Makes sense for someone to sponsor and buy a stake (as it allows a world class coach, in the moment, to go head to head with City/Chelsea/Utd/Pool for players for 18months, we hope!!!)

As said, would you accept Berkshire Hathaway Stadium and 10% stake for £250M cash injection (plus a yearly naming right payment for 20years covering the stadium debt mostly)?
