You’ve made my point pretty much exactly. Levy is his minion and while he may have an ownership stake, anyone knows that if you don’t own 50.1% you really don’t own shit.

I think Lewis was listed as worth £5.5 billion, which was 4th in the league until the Newcastle takeover. He has significantly more money than the Glazers or FSG who own Liverpool, he’s not even that far off Abramovich (whose public wealth is significantly exaggerated anyway). He just doesn’t give a fuck, only owner in the league who doesn’t put his own money in. I doubt he could name 5 players on the team. Having Levy as the public face of ownership is extremely convenient for him.

Levy may be a wanker, but I do believe he’s genuinely interested in seeing the club succeed. I doubt Lewis has anymore interest than telling his rich buddies he know the England captain. At least he’s 84, jelly and ice cream etc etc. Hopefully he doesn’t have some idiot son who is going to inherit the club.

Get Julián Álvarez from River and be done with it. Pay a bit over the odds, so say £25m instead of the £20 that I think River is looking for, and be done with it. Not sure what other teams are after him (United I think), but the Vlahovic and Diaz fees are ridiculous and there is no way we would afford them.
 
Just listening to Ally Gold's most recent thoughts on Ndombele. Says he doesn't believe anyone wants him and the amount that Tottenham would want isn't close to what people would offer. Chalks that up to the fact that we signed him on a "pre-covid era" contract and in the current climate teams aren't spending the same. Also says Ndombele believes he should be at a club like Barca or Real or Bayern which is making him harder to unload.
