I think it's defo worth a shot. Lucas is a devoted to the cause kinda guy, and he always wants to start games, so why not. He's a fighter on the pitch and that'd compensate for his small build...knowing we ain't talking about him playing CB.

I actually wanna see how that'd work with him at RWB and Kulu in front of him. Think they'd link up well together. Lucas would offer an outlet to Kulu in attack, and Kulu is a guy who doesn't mind tracking back and doing the nitty-gritty.

Berg > Lucas as far as RWB experiments go..... He did well like that under Jose.

You made a mistake and then threw a hissy fit when it was corrected. Your opinions are perfectly valid, getting a piece of information wrong is however not an opinion.

Anyway, you have a good end to your day
Fair enough, it does seem that there was interest in Kulu earlier than I thought. Mea culpa. I guess Fabio tried Diaz and Traore first, and when it went sideways he pushed the button on Kulu. I'm excited to see what he brings to the team, he's a big strong lad.

Re Bentancur, it still feels to me like he came into the picture when convos were had about Kulu. But that often happens...you're discussing a player and all of a sudden there's a bonus opportunity landing on your lap. Whatever anyway, he's gonna be one of ours and he could be our new Mousa, so bring it on.

I'll still regret Diaz, though once Liverpool showed up, it was always gonna be tough to get him. I still believe (not know 😉) we moved a bit late for him, and some even say if we'd approached him earlier and offered more dosh, we could've had him. We'll just never know. I just hope he doesn't turn into a new Suarez or Coutinho for the Reds, cause my, they have enough firepower already the silly bastards!!!

Atalanta completely destroyed United in their games. United was able to win because of a late Ronaldo screamer.

Juve got 1st in a group with the Chavs, beating them in the process in Turin. Guess who played in those games?

Inter are the closest thing that have competed with Real this season, and Milan are a side that is constantly on the rise.

But sure, go check the Flashscore stats...

By flashscore stats, do you mean the actual league tables, rather than who outplayed who?

Also Inter lost both games against Madrid. Milan didn't get out of their group. What non existent rise are we talking about here?

Oh and Juventus beat Chelsea after parking the bus? Yeah I watched both games, they looked like a plucky mid table side. Got absolutely torn to bits in the second game, it was like men against boys. They're not a good side and the first knockout game they face vs a decent team they will be going home.

All of this basically.

Re the bold bit, they’re both young for their position so will have flaws, but Bentancur is two footed and seems to bring a good combination of strengths to the role. Kulusevski, if you find a compilation of goals and assists from his time at Parma, brings actually creativity. He can cross, play a through pass past a congested defence, carry the ball and hit a long shot. I hope he is up to it because his raw materials are something we currently lack.

I really can’t imagine it being both. Surely only one of them.

That said, I’ve always felt that it’s either Bergwijn or Lo Celso leaving, and Bergwijn’s heroics v Leicester tilted the emphasis on shifting Mr Argentina out instead.

GLCs bed was already made..... He wasn't even on the bench for Lester remember..... Then he tweeted out to mug the gaffa off pre-game.

Inter should've NEVER lost that first game, they dominated Real. Milan are not a finished article yet, but they're getting stronger each day.

Does it matter how Juve beat Chelsea? The fact is they did beat them, which is something that we can only dream of doing, sadly...

If Dembele is true and he’s fit, he’s a fucking great player. If he comes and has an ego, that could be cured by having to gel with a new team and playing under Conte.
Yeah to be honest I think the Barca move turned his head. Put him under Conte, who has proper authority, and at Spurs where there is less pressure...and also decent nice guys like Kane and Son around to play mentors to him. And you never know

Does it matter? Yes. They parked the bus and Chiesa had a moment of brilliance. I watched that game and it was basically attack vs defence, Juve's centre backs looked fantastic and Chiesa was the spark. They basically bypassed midfield.

In the second game, Juve got streamrolled, and their midfield including Bentancur couldn't cope. Kulu was barely even involved in either game because he's not a first choice player. Go ahead and be excited for these signings, I get it, but let's not build them up as something they aren't.

Check my post history, never have I stated I was excited about Benta. He's way too similar to PEH in my opinion, but Kulu is different. He's a player that CONTE wanted at Inter, but chose Juve instead. The lad is 21 as well, and while he doesn't have blistering pace, he's too well suited to a 3-4-3 as a RW with Sonny on the opposite side. He'll give us a new way to attack, since he has a great left foot, and is pretty good with his decision making in the final 3rd. Dybala wasn't a first choice player for Juve until a month ago, does it mean he's shite as well?

Depends where you look.

In your link it says plus lamela

Tottenham have signed winger Bryan Gil from Sevilla, with Erik Lamela joining the Spanish side in a swap-plus-cash deal.

Spurs will also pay Sevilla £21.6m for Gil, according to Sky in Italy.

Tottenham have signed Bryan Gil from Sevilla with Érik Lamela joining the Spanish club as part of the deal. Spurs will pay an additional €25m (£21.4m) for the 20-year-old winger.

They all say the same thing, Erik Lamela forming part of the deal

Ask yourself why a club with 20 years of being tight would pay anywhere near that kind of money for a nobody.
Simple answer - they didn'.
We gave them Lamela and the difference up to 21m

End of the day if these players improve the squad then I'm happy for now. I was mega pissed off last week because it looked like we were doing nothing but now we are.

Looking at our Top 4 competition, Woolwich have spent the window weakening their squad and missing out on everyone. It looks like they haven't finished weakening still. Odd behaviour for a club who couldn't field a team a couple of weeks ago but there we go.

Man Utd: standing still

Spammers: putting in fantasy bids which will never come off.

I still have my doubts about Top 4, but it looks like we may have had the better January window, add that to Contes training and tactics and we've a better chance than we did a few weeks ago. Maybe I'm easily pleased but bouncing around TFC getting angry every 5 minutes probably isn't good for anyone's health so... It is what it is. I would demand better in the summer window.

I absolutely agree. I know the Dortmund setup pretty well, and they do turn out great players and run a tight ship. Players that leave seem to simultaneously get to their peak value and peak ego. Often this works out just fine (Hummels, Lewandowski and probably soon Haaland). For others it’s a slippery slope to underachiever status and failure (Gotze, Aubameyang, Pulisic, Sancho, Yarmolenko, Sokratis ).

Dortmund - A great example of selling players at their peak and re-investing wisely. Mostly. They still fuck up. Step forward Donyell Malen 🤪

We’ll see. I’ve seen nothing from him which impressed me but when he’s a Spurs player he will get my full backing.

Dybala had contract issues/disputes with the board. He’s always been easily one of their most talented players and not really comparable to Kulu, the fans always rated Dybala for a reason.

But I wouldn’t want us to sign him either, to be honest.
