This is surprising to me. Why not get him the hell out if we can?

It's a huge mistake.

ESPECIALLY since Ndombele is likely to be an utter cunt about leaving once his value dips below "fancy" clubs.

Lyon activating a purchase option means the whole remainder of that contract is their problem. Massive opportunity spurned.
If we don’t want an option, I’d suggest that we think he’ll do well at Lyon and attract a bigger bid from someone who can afford to pay more than Lyon.

Not saying I like it, I’m a Bird in the hand over 2 in the Bush kind of guy, but it could be a stroke of genius if he tears it up and in the summer psg, wanting an hg midfielder, give its a hit chunk of our money back.

If we have a lower buy option there, I can just see him doing very well, Lyon talking advantage of it and then seeing him to psg for significantly more immediately.

I have caveated any opinion with the fact that I’ve not watched loads of the kid. And god knows this team needs a bit of heads up craft.

My only other concern is, does this make it more likely we play 343 rather than 352? I hope not. But then if Conte has decided his midfield options should only be water carrying functionaries then maybe that becomes moot.
Like you I prefer the 352, but I also have fantasies for us of the 16/17 season where we had Eriksen playing to the right of Kane and in central midfield somehow at the same time. Admittedly that 2 man cm contained Dembele who was pretty much 2 players in one, but we’ve seen it first hand with great results.

It's interesting that the Bentancur and Kulusevski interest broke sat morning and will be done by Mon noon latest. some deals ovb don't take 3 weeks to get done.

Why the fcuk would we even consider selling Bergwijn if we are not going to buy a player of note?

What kind of continued fcukwittery are we going to be exposed to?

Nothing we can do about the likes of Liverpool flexing their appeal or Newcastle's dirty loot but surely with all the loans being mooted we don't need to sell Bergwijn just to horde cash.

Bergwijn remains a player we seemed to neither want nor have a position for a week and a half ago.

But the aggregate of the outgoings would sure seem to indicate the need for something incoming.

There's got to be something out there that can help us on a six-month loan. There has to be.

Sad to see how low the bar has dropped I guess

Give rodon to brighton and we pay 30m to brighton for lamptey. I can live with that.

No chance. Loan Rodon and hope Potter makes him look a £25-30m player due to his coaching and structure (and psychology).

Then we might have £25m of the £40m+ for Lamptey (though he’s just too small, it’s the quandary, the way he plays with swerving running is always going to be tough, even on a very young body). So for that reason I just can’t see it happening.

We need to nick Chelseas RB youth scout! Lamptey, James and Livramento all within a year or two…
