Man Utd enter Dembele race?

Manchester United have launched an 11th-hour bid to lure Ousmane Dembele to Old Trafford, reports Footmercato.
The France international has been instructed to leave Barcelona, with Paris Saint-Germain said to have reached a verbal agreement to sign him.
However, United have reportedly made contact with Dembele's representatives in the hope they can snatch him from under PSG's noses.
United are keen to fill the void left by Anthony Martial, who joined Sevilla on loan earlier this month, Donny Van de Beek, who is heavily linked with a loan move away from the club, and Mason Greenwood, who has been suspended.

With Gil, Ndombele, Lo Celso and potentially one or two of Dele, Doherty and Bergwijn leaving. I’m really hoping we bring in a RWB, it’s a gaping hole in the team right now as Emerson just doesn’t cut it in attacking areas. We’ve clearly gone for solid midfielders and will be relying on our wingbacks and attackers heavily to create, this window will be pretty underwhelming if we just bring the two Juve lads in. However, we haven’t had a back up striker since Llorente so I shouldn’t be thinking logically, I doubt we add to what we have already.

I have caveated any opinion with the fact that I’ve not watched loads of the kid. And god knows this team needs a bit of heads up craft.

My only other concern is, does this make it more likely we play 343 rather than 352? I hope not. But then if Conte has decided his midfield options should only be water carrying functionaries then maybe that becomes moot.
He played in CM (in a CM 3) for the various Atalanta youth levels for at least 3 seasons and i think he actually suits CM more (not in a CM too though).

He could offer in game tactical flexibility allowing us to switch between the 2 formations in game, without making a sub.

Dele (Tottenham to Valencia)

There was always a good chance Dele Alli’s future would be resolved late in the window and so it has proved. Tottenham were prepared to let him go on loan, as we revealed last month, but no concrete interest had been in the offing for most of the month.

However, The Athletic can reveal that Valencia are interested in a loan move for the midfielder. There is at this stage no guarantee a deal will be done but the Spanish side are considering. Discussions are also taking place at a small number of Premier League sides.

Other clubs have previously looked at the former England international but instead prioritised other candidates. Everton might have been an option if incoming manager Frank Lampard hadn’t chosen to sign van de Beek instead. Newcastle, despite being linked to the 25-year-old, did not have him on their list of targets.

Because a deal would be fairly straightforward, it is very possible a late suitor could sign him on loan today but his lack of minutes have eroded his value and made a sale difficult, with Daniel Levy hopeful that he could recapture the form that once made him one of the league’s most feared attacking midfielders. Dele, who has a contract until 2024, has featured rarely under Antonio Conte and will likely be a peripheral figure for the rest of the season.

This season started promisingly for Dele, who appeared to be a part of Nuno Espirito Santo’s plans and started his first six Premier League games in charge. But he failed to regain his place in Tottenham’s starting XI after he was substituted at half-time during the 3-1 defeat to Woolwich in September. He has made just four league appearances since.
