Transfers January 2022 - Transfer Window

Latest Spurs videos from Sky Sports

I think this window's been fine. The clear out was necessary and we don't have European competition.

But not getting some sort of RWB is going to severely hurt our chances to actually score, which is a problem when hoping for top 4.

I’m impressed with the deadwood shifting, on the same note who the fuck is ‘John’?! Also disappointed with how things have turned out for Gil, he had real flashes of brilliance under Nuno but is clearly far from a Conte type player.

Mate we none of us know the kind of adjustment Kulu and Betancur will make to the EPL. Spin it any way you want we are seriously gambling our top four effort

Dele, TN, GLC & Gil have like 1 goal and 1 assist and a whole bunch of splinters to show for half a season in the EPL.

As long as the 2 new lads can chip in with more than the square root of fuck all; we're better off.

That's not spin; that's just reality.

Another signing would go a long way, but the outgoings are no big deal.

To be fair most of them Conte doesn’t want to use so they are deadwood by that mark. However we look at least one CM away from having enough bodies to cover fatigue/injuries.

One good CM and that will be ok. Ideally we would also get a RWB and a cover striker for Kane but I guess that will be the summer.
So we have 4 CMs now - Skipp, PEH, Winks, Bentancur.

Skipp and PEH have been extremely durable. Almost always available and play a lot of minutes. Winks injury record is decent although he hasn't played a ton recently. Bentancur I'm not sure, but it seems he hasn't had a bad injury history.

So that's 2 extremely reliable and 2 fairly reliable CMs when it comes to availability. We aren't going to have room for a 5th CM that is decent. It should be a young guy that could play in a pinch but is still developing (Like Sarr).

I think we could be ok with 4 CMs and then have an emergency option from the youth squad (if there is one).

Obviously, all this could change with unexpected injuries. Having only one forward is way worse than the CM situation.

The transfer window is fine if we go out in the summer and properly build up a new squad and replace these players. Then it's worth the short term pain of perhaps dealing with depth issues but getting them off the bill and beginning the rebuild.

If we go out and sign only 2-3 players in the summer rather than mounting a genuine rehaul of this squad the way Poch declared we needed one, then it's not a good window at all. So we won't really know for a good while.

Classy work from the art department Spurs. The Kulu one's no better.

Looks like a GCSE project
