Pretty sure in our last few windows, we have several of our highest signings ever. They were just shit signings.
They were affected by AFCON for moments in Jan, which is why they pretended to have 5 injuries to avoid the NLD in one of the most embarrassing bottle jobs in recent history.Saying Woolwich have a far stronger squad is being dramatic. This was their bench last game. A PL game. Imagine the melting on here.
Good. Let him waste their wages. He's a worse than Martinelli and Saka anyway, so won't even help them much.
eh???
Do you have net spend numbers dating back the last several windows instead of nitpicking certain teams in certain windows? It's good information but just not complete unless looking at all windows. Our highest, sure. We spent 55 mill net in the last window though, that's not high. Woolwich spent 120 million net, and brought in players on higher wages as well. That's probably the closest club in terms of revenue and ability to attract talent.
I think under Jose we spent 70/80 mill, but again on low wage players. Even in the so called splurge where we signed GLC, Ndombele, Bergwijn (In jan) etc we still only spent about 75m net, and that was by far our biggest window.
We consistently spend less than our rivals, on both wages & transfers. The bigger clubs spend more than our budget on a single player like Grealish or Lukaku.
But that's because they have good players on poor form. We can't just keep hoping they won't sort it out, and actually got a top 4 standard squad ourselves.
There's no good way to spin this... if we are going to go for 3-4-3 with 2 plodders in midfield fine... but then we need a RWB who can contribute to attack. Now we have nothing.
Any ideas on any last minute superstars coming to Spurs? They were affected by AFCON for moments in Jan, which is why they pretended to have 5 injuries to avoid the NLD in one of the most embarrassing bottle jobs in recent history.
However, from Feb they will have a far better squad than us.
btwIgula , I have a feeling that this guy will be a success here compared to his failings at Juventus.
From what I've read he is a hard working player with a great attitude, so Conte will be perfect for him.
However, I don't think he'll bring our team onto another level, or offer something significantly beyond Bergwijn or Lucas.
If we do get top 4 it's reliant on superior squads flopping.No-one is spinning anything mate, the original arguement was that 'we don't have a chance for top 4' which is complete and utter OTT nonsense which is what i'm disagreeing with.

We finally get rid of the unhappy / unpopular / highly paid / non performing players. That alone will boost the remaining squad. We have a lean squad. All players left will feel they have a part to play.Bentancur IN
Kulusevski IN
GIl OUT
Ndombele OUT
Alli OUT
Lo Celso OUT
Clarke OUT
John OUT
This isn't great really is it. Be honest
Not that I’m disagreeing with you but Woolwich have martinelli and that lads decent up frontUtd need a defensive midfielder. their fans are up in arms that they won't sign one.
Woolwich don't have a striker, Aubamayeng is off to Barca, if he doesn't leave then Arteta won't play him either way they're left with nketiah and Lacazette who have 3 goals between them this season.
As for us...everyone wants a creative midfielder but don't actually realise that Conte's system creates enough chances (we had 4.9 xg against Leicester highest in the Prem this season) we've not been linked to a creative mid all window...there's a reason for that.
RWB is disappointing I agree but it's not make or break
