Transfers January 2022 - Transfer Window

Latest Spurs videos from Sky Sports

A lot on angst amongst some supporters over the exits of Ndombele and Lo Celso, so I did some digging.

Worth recalling that 21 year old Kulusevski has scored one goal less in his 18 months at Juventus versus Ndombele's 10 goals in 30 months at Spurs. Lo Celso scored only one goal in his 30 months at Spurs.

So 21 year old Kulusevski has been more productive than the pair of them. Not such a bad exchange.

Meanwhile Bentacur has been making 40+ appearances for in each of the last 4 seasons playing in Serie A CL and others comps for Juventus - a frequent member of the team..

So we've probably upgraded in raw stats on the pair of them. Of course time will tell, but it looks promising.

The raw stats :

Dejan Kulusevski (still only 21)
Parma - 10 goals and 9 assists in 39 appearances in 20019/20
Juventus
- 20/21, appeared in all but 3 of the Seria A matches
- 21/22 (first half) 27 appearances in all competitions for Juve, including 5 in Champions League,. 7 goals and 7 assists in 47 appearances.
Total at Juventus is 74 appearances and 9 goals and 10 assists in a season and a half
20 caps for Sweden

Rodrigo Bentancur (age 24)
18/19 40 appearances in all comps
19/20 43 appearances in all comps
20/21 45 appearances in all comps
21/22 (first half) 26 appearances
46 caps for Uruguay

Definitely Tierney over Reguilon, the others are less clear.

Tomiyasu over Emerson is obvious based on their form at both clubs. I don't think the former suits our setup, but he's been a better PL player and I don't think it's even close.

I think you can argue Romero in to the equation based on what he did in Italy, but Dier isn't getting in over White who is ahead of him in the England pecking order, or Gabriel who is probably in the PL TOTY conversation.

6/10 overall window for me assuming it stays as is.

8/10 for activity. Got a lot of ins/outs in January which is not easy. Docked it 2 points as we didn't significantly improve the squad and we lack some creativity. Hopefully Kulu can supply some. We also didn't solve RWB but on the bright side, we didn't panic buy any shit options, so hopefully we can address that this summer.

The overreactions and the tears in here are a bit forced, something tells me it would have been the same had we got more players in, when you rationalise it this window is hardly meltdown worthy, it's the Winter transfer window, what were you actually expecting?
Are you telling me that if a transfer window goes well or badly there will still be cunts on this forum finding reasons to have an enormous meltdown?? You learn something new everyday

Not too keen on Dembele if reports are true. Think he’d cause a lot of problems.
A french player with poor discipline?

Go ask neutrals who they'd prefer to have out of Tierney and Reguilon. Or who they'd rather have between Tomiyasu and Emerson. How many neutrals fans do you think take Romero and Dier over Gabriel and Ben White?

Almost none. Let's face reality here.
Yet, we're massively outplaying Woolwich every match under Conte, have several players growing into roles that were written off, and in Lucas and Bergwijn, have better 3rd/4th attacking players than Woolwich. If you think we're so awful, perhaps you shouldn't have tried joining recently? We're a better 11, and we're better coached. And by Spurs standards, this is actually a much stronger squad than most have been in the last 25 years...

But your point was that their bench was weak and had players we had never heard of. Elneny and Pepe are mediocre, they'd be sitting on the bench anyway.

Let's be frank- Woolwich have a significantly better team than us- we are lucky to have Conte who is world class and thus evens it up.
Saka Martinelli Smith Rowe Odegaard Partey Xhaka Tomiyasu White Gabriel Tierney Ramsdale

Apart from Xhaka, that's decent; has more goalscorers than our team and more creativity.
Have you lost the plot? Normally a sensible poster but I think deadline day has got to you.

Saying Woolwich have a "significantly better team than us" is just wrong. Why do we go 3 points above them if we win our game in hand if that's the case?

I wouldn't have Partey and Xhaka over Skippy, Hobby or Benty
Romero and Dier better than both their CBs
Lloris > Ramsdale
Kane and Son > all their attackers

They have a few good young talents up front but no real goalscorers
Tomiyasu is solid enough and Tierney is made of glass but has a good delivery on him

Have a word with yourself.
