So the data in that diagram was provided by FBREF, their definition is:How is “progressive passes” defined? Does the ball just have to end up further up the pitch than it started? Does the pass need to be completed?
"Completed passes that move the ball towards the opponent's goal at least 10yrs from its furthest point in the last six passes, or any completed pass into the penalty area. Excludes passes from the defending 40% of the pitch".
FBREF track a whole bunch of other types of passes too (as can be seen here: Premier League Passing Stats | FBref.com).
On progressive passes, only Trent Alexander-Arnold, Joao Cancelo, Bruno Fernandes have more than PEH!!
