Ex-Spurs Player Harry Winks

Latest Spurs videos from Sky Sports

Anyone who dedicates their life to shitting spurs players and team is no supporter of the club and should go elsewhere.

As long as the guy continues to get picked by managers with an actual track record of successful management, I will continue to back and support him

The opinions of no mark choppers on internet club boards mean nothing to me
Jose had completely stopped using him by the time he left. Same with Nuno. Conte will see the light soon too.

We do have a ton of average players like you said, but some of those lads try, or put tackles in, Winks seriously looks like he does neither.

I had backed him for years, as i would with any Spurs player, but i'm not putting up with him phoning it in.

Royal for example is an absolutely awful footballer, one of the worst i've ever seen for us, but at least he tries, and is happy to put a challenge in. Winks seems to look less interested as time goes on.

As soon as Skipp and Ben return, you know we'll see an article about Winks not being happy with lack of game time, even though he's done nothing to deserve it.

On top of that hes getting paid a lot of money and hes doing fuckall in return. If he had any decency he would leave in the summer. Zero sympathy for him and the fools that keep backing him.

It's hard to read and makes our fanbase look terrible, to be honest. He's not good enough for us or where we want to be but he also seems a decent enough lad whose main crime appears to have been speaking out because he wanted football. It's not his fault standards at the club have dropped or that we have injuries. Valid criticism is entirely fair, but for some reason the discussion around Winks leans in to straight up abuse.
Amen, brother.

The personal abuse he - and others - get is out of order.

Him not being good enough really doesn't justify the name-calling, character attack and threats.

Get a grip, fellas.

I'm not one to call out players, would rather support.

But with Winks, he must be pretty dumb or just not give a shit. Of course he knows what the majority of fans think of him and given that he has 2 options.

- Get his head down, really bust a gut, change his playing style to be less risk averse and earn the fans support.

- Or just go more within himself, show no effort and hide on the pitch making the fans think he's just taking the piss.

Seems he's chosen the latter so it's pretty hard to defend him any more. Sad really as nearly every single fan of the club would bust a gut if they got the chance he's had to play for the club.

Yid my arse.
I don’t think it’s as simple as changing his play style tbh

If he suddenly tried to be less risk averse he’s be losing possession of the ball 95% of the time and people would be getting on his back even more

He’s simply not good enough at this level but due to horrific management and neglect of our squad from the top down in recent years , he is still being called upon to play because of no other options

That is not his fault , it is the clubs fault

I never really look at Winks and think he isn’t trying his best , that applies to most of our squad actually , I think they try but they just aren’t at the required level and don’t have the kind of character that’s needed at this level.

Let's agree to disagree, there's obviously a player in there, when he first burst through he had some decent games. I don't think the injury helped him, or Poch turning him into a DM.

You're right though it's time for him to move on and i hope he manages to do alright at another club, just not against us of course

and as I have said before, I'd rather have a player who is pissed off at not playing, rather than one who doesn't give a crap and takes the money.

all this cobblers about him not tackling people is utter bullshit as well. Just people continually seeking to confirm their bias by making things up.

I agree he is not the level that we want or need to move on, but see no reason to attack the guy and abuse him personally because he isn't lionel Messi, Dembele, Gazza etc

That standard of player costs more money to buy and pay than the current business model allows.

People are going to have to accept that until the company is sold and the stadium debts expunged, we are not going to be buying top flight footballers - so abusing the shit out of the ones we have makes no sense at all.
