I don't know... Kulusevski and Bentancur have looked alright so far.
Footballers aren't one size fits all, which is the problem most amateur scouts and plenty of professional scouts fall victim to. Just because a player succeeds in one place, doesn't mean they'll succeed elsewhere. Nor does it mean that just because a player hasn't succeeded somewhere, they will not succeed elsewhere.

Well Messi has kind of flopped at PSG, which means that everything he did at Barca is forgotten and he's a short Argentinian farmer now.

We need to stop buying players on the transfer list at bigger clubs. If Depay was good he wouldn’t be for sale. We should have already learned that lesson after we bought Emerson.

We need to be buying the crown jewels from lesser clubs, that’s where we have had most success in the market. Modric from Zagreb, Eriksen from Ajax, Wanyama/Toby from Southampton, Dele from MK Dons,
Dembele from Fulham, we should be buying standout players from smaller teams. Players that opposing fans will not want to sell. Not players that clubs are desperate to get rid of.

Pick the best player at every club in the bottom half of the prem. then do the same for the top half of the Dutch / Belgian / Portuguese leagues. And there's your transfer target list!

Serious question- who's the best/most-likely RWB we can buy this summer? I'm sure not all available targets would even be willing to come to us. Presuming we keep Kane and back Conte with money for RWB, CM and CB (beyond just Romero). Also assume we move out all the deadwood currently on loan for 75m total...

I guess my question is leading- what would our best theoretical XI next season look like if we made an elite RWB we might actually be able to obtain, our main target for the summer?

We need:

Elite rwb
Elite and proven LCB
Elite lwb swap with either regui or sessegnon
Elite cm
Senior backup striker
Senior backup left winger

All on a net 0 transfer budget. With shit scouts who levy pays minimum wage for no more than 25 hours per month so they're considered part time and not eligible for employee rights.

Good luck Don Paratici.

I would be interested in Jovic as a bench option. He hasn't set the world alight at Madrid, but analytics showed that even if he only scored a couple of goals during his loan back to Frankfurt, his movement and work rate did so much to help their overall attacking output.

He needs to rehab his career a bit and I think that the prem could do that for him.

For a "good price" I'd also take chance on him - as an understudy to Harry K.

Exactly. I don't want him to replace Harry as the main man. But I'd be happy with him as the bench option and understudy to Harry. Or for whoever replaces Harry if Harry goes.

Not to mention that Jovic excelled in Frankfurt's attacking triangle. Which operates similarly to the one Conte has Kane, Son and Dejan playing in.
