I've always seen him as a player with a massively inflated opinion of himself, so I'm no so sure he'd tick that box.

(Also find him to be very dislikeable - divey, whingey and moody...... Whether or not that translates better if he's playing for your team, who knows.)

Possibly, but I assume if we targeted him he'd be aware of the role he would play. At Everton he might fancy himself a bit because big fish small pond, but here he may be more accepting of a squad role. He'd get plenty of play time with the number of competitions we'd be in.

Oh he's a prick, but I don't really care about that .. unless it's legitimately nasty off field stuff. Opposition fans must fucking hate Romero. All I see is a player who ticks a good few boxes for us. Probably just BS rumours though.

Nice. Presses really well, got good ability and has shown he can score double figures. Really good depth option if he's happy to do that role. Would also mean no need for an out an out CF as he can play anywhere across the front 3, so excellent cover for both Son & Kane.

He's a total cock. Don't want him anywhere near a Spurs shirt. Drops to the floor after a dirty look with his hands over his face begging for free kicks and red/yellow cards.
Is bang average at football.
Did I mention he's a cock?

He is, Romero also seems like a cock. Half the Liverpool and Chelsea teams are cocks. It’s whether he is useful or not.

Perhaps, but we are not at a level where our bench is too enticing.... Yet.

If he's moody with his colleagues and the ref it's an issue... Reminds me of Arnautotvic to an extent.

This he's very solid at the back can't really remember him ever making a mistake

He's just fucking useless going forward. Bad scouting decision for what we wanted but then again stat wise he did well attacking for the club he was at before on loan

PL is just a different animal to La Liga. It seems players from the Bundesliga and Seria A have the easiest time adjusting and French and Spanish league players have a higher chance off struggling
:levylol:

He's been ran ragged by a few wingers and passed it straight to the oppo when trying to play it out from the back a fair few times.

Bite Atleti's hand off if they want him! No point persevering with someone that does not fit the system.

I think the areas of focus to improve the first 11 that are essential are

LCB
RWB

if we can upgrade from Davies to Gvardiol or Schlotterbeck say that's massive equally from Doherty/Emerson to Lamptey or Singo or in dreamworld Hakimi

then we look at improving the squad this is where the next 4 positions come into play for back up/rotation in order of importance for me

CM - some one to rotate with Skipp/Bentancur/Hojbjerg - a Konrad Laimer, or Serge Milenkovic Savic. Kalvin Phillips , Yves Bissouma or JWP?

FWD - Ideally a wide forward to rotate in the 3 but could also play 9 - Nkuku, Memphis, Nunez

LWB - to be honest I don't see this as a priority position at all. I think Reguilon and Sess are both capable and more than that quite good.

GK -backup - Sam Johnstone is fine.

Job done.
Spot on. 4 top quality signings and we're winning the lot.

CL + London + Conte should be enough to convince a relegated Everton player. He'll have other suitors but none of the top sides will offer him a guaranteed spot. As someone who can play across the front 3 it's not like he'd be a benchwarmer, and if he has an ego then he would back himself to force his way in.

But again, it's all just speculation, the rumour itself doesn't seem solid. But it's the kind of signing I'd like, very reliable in games we rotate and it's an energetic player to bring off the bench.

Absolutely not JWP..... Offers nothing we don't already have in open play.

Also; can anyone vouch for Laimer on the ball; rater than just being a great presser and disruptor?

......If we're gonna go deep on a CM we need someone else with quality on the ball otherwise we're back to pinning the balance of our MF on one man (Bentancur).

Richarlison is not good enough to threaten the places of our front 3 but is better cover than Lucas/Berg. Is that we want?

Or do we want someone that can genuinely usurp Son or Kulu if they are going through bad spells (we know Kane will never be dropped).

Throw in Sanchez too, GLC and Sanchez for Torres job done. Although I suspect Villarreal are not that stupid
Lo Celso has already proven that's he a top player for them and yes they are not so stupid... to believe that a player who may not be a good fit in the EPL can't make in La Liga.
I think Sanchez can become a top player in La Liga - and not because it's by some considered a weaker league (that can be argued) but because the style there will suit him better.
Both Bentancur and Kulusevski were struggling in Seri A, yet both - so far - turned into top players in the EPL.
Whether Pau Torres is a "top fit" for the EPL remains to be seen. I am personally more keen on Gvardiol.

agree with all this but I don't agree that Sam Johnstone is fine.

Hes the only one I'd have from Everton, a shit house, is the only won qith fight in him & can cover the front 3

Only thing is Romero hates him lol
If it happens Romero is either handing in a transfer request or he and Richarlison become best friends.

No in between. Kinda keen on it to be honest. He's a good player and a terrific shithouse. He's definitely good enough to be a bench/rotation option for us and he is a proper 9, something that we have been screaming about needing for years now. With the added bonus of being able to play on the wings so he won't be reliant on Kane getting rested for his minutes.

If Conte and Paratici think that they can make it work I say bring him on.

Richarlison misses sitters left, right and center any time I watch an Everton match and he's a diving prick. There is not a player I dislike more than him when it comes to players outside of our rivals. I would be gutted should we actually sign him.
