Rico Browne snubs Tottenham offer to sign Birmingham City contract
Rising star Rico Browne has signed a two-year Birmingham City contract,
Football Insider understands.
The centre-back, 18, has been on the radar of the Premier League elite and came close to leaving St Andrew’s over the last 12 months.
But a Birmingham source has told
Football Insider that Browne has now agreed his first professional contract with the club and already put pen to paper.
It is a coup for the Championship club, who have been eager to tie down the
£1.5million-valued youngster.
Football Insider understands that
Browne underwent a West Ham trial last year and Spurs have also verbally offered an 18-month contract to him.
But he opted to stay at St Andrew’s for another year and complete his two-year scholarship.

The Saint Kitts and Nevis youth international has stepped up to the Under-23s this term.
He has established himself as a regular starter in Steve Spooner’s side who play in Premier League 2 Division 2.
After a string of good performances at youth level,
Browne will be hoping to make the step up to the first team next season but that might not be under Lee Bowyer.
