Manager Antonio Conte

Need to do more than 'try'.

Perhaps we need to ‘try’ a different formation, ‘try’ Bergwijn for more than a minute, ‘try’ a change of tactics.

What is the point of saying this when he is refusing to try anything new?

I don’t want to rag on him just because of the last two games, but just sick of the same shit excuses when we get a poor result. “Must do better”, “must bounce back”.

Same shit, different year. And I’ve over 30 of them.

I’m a big fan of Conte and really want him to do well with us, but it’s the same issues again and again. He doesn’t seem to have a plan B when things aren’t working, he doesn’t know how to play against a back 5 and he makes the changes too late.
It’s obviously really not helped by having big issues in the squad, but even out of position I don’t think Lucas and Bergwijn would have been any worse than Sess and Royal today. That pair really hampered us and were on the field far too long.
He's more stubborn than Mourinho. At least Jose had the bollocks to change it as early as half time. The football is no better either. I think he'll be gone in the summer.

There’s some causes for concern for me.

He leaves making a change so late in the game that by the time a sub comes on, it’s ineffective to the game.

His stubbornness isn’t a great trait either, surely as a football coach you need to be flexible in adapting to different scenarios when necessary?

I know we’re not blessed with the biggest bench but it’s criminal the lack of time Stevie B’s getting, we’ve seen the impact he makes on games and I’d rather see him on over Moura

I agree with you but in your first paragraph you could be describing Poch or even Jose

Same players same coach you could say but we have new players in Kulu and Bentancur but still the same crap

Huge Conte fan but the last two games were inexcusable. Today especially was screaming for formation change, or at least bring Stevie and Lucas with 20 left. Instead he fooking brings Sanchez and then Lucas for five minutes. Absurd.

Thought he liked the one gane per week so he has plenty of time to work with the players. Obv paying off nicely! I wonder if that’s why his record on Europe is generally white as he can’t prepare teams for two games a week. Due to his stubbornness with player selections, tactics and subs. Rotation as well.
His not in the class of pep or klopp both of who send their teams out to win and attack rather than play passive slow boring football generally. Only looks good when you can counter attack and if they actually come off. We hardly create any chances now. When we score it’s mainly on the counter and those are the only chances we create. Other than that goalies having nothing to do as we aren’t creating a hatful of chances or having shits.

Obviously we've seen an upturn in performance since he's come in but some of his decision making is worrying.

Strange post match interview where he seems happy with the point. He mentioned how dangerous Brentford were on the counter attack against Chelsea and how you have to pay attention to that. This thinking clearly explains the lack of and timing of substitutes, he was scared to lose the game.

I don't give a fuck that they managed to put 4 past a disjointed Chelsea side. We should be beating Brentford ffs. We stand a much better chance of beating them if we actually show some bollocks and attacking intent.

It's almost like he doesn't want CL football or doesn't believe we can get it - but it's right there!

Maybe he would rather we get Europa League and he can run out the B team hoping we go out early while we focus on the Premier League if he gets the players he wants in the summer. Living in dreamland if that's the case!

I do still want him backed in the summer and here next season with better players but his lack of adaptability is a concern now.

ZERO shots against fucking Brentford.

That’s on Wiggy.

Get rid - bring in a young, hungry coach. Sick of these Mourinho type managers.

Conte’s apparent inaction these last 2 games has been disappointing, to say the least, but we’re going to need more than a “young hungry coach” to take this club forward. Look at the lack of flair and creativity in what should be our midfield engine room. How in god’s good name did we end up paying money for Emerson Royal?

I know you’ve been Conte out from day one, but don’t kid yourself that the next managerial change will solve all our ills.

3-5-2 seems reasonable given our woes. Doesn't change our overall shape, but might solve our unlocking a parked box by adding a third in a more advanced but central position.

Put Kulu in a central 10 position behind Kane and Son. If not, Kane behind Bergwin and Son.
